Just purchased the G3. However, i am having difficulty getting any decent action shot during my children's basketball games. Tried all different modes. Get either blurred images, or very dark. When i adjust the for fast shutter speed, I obviously get darker images. Any suggestions. larry

I have a G2 and know what difficulty you face. Unfortunately the low light of indoor actions shots leave you with limited options..
(1) shoot at 400 ISO even if it introduces lots of noise
you probably tried..
(2) use pan focus to fix the focus and it will allow you to shoot without as much shutter lag, but this will still result in blur shots since the shutter will be at a low speed.
(3) purchase an external flash unit like the 420ex. If you are on the floor, you can shoot with flash and the 420ex is capable of putting out more light than the built in flash so you can use a faster shutter and freeze the action.
This a problem with all cameras not just digicams. Although with film you can get a super fast film like 800 ASA and even push it for faster speeds.
