A couple i got at home.. could use some suggestions, especially what to do about sun spots such as on the second.. the first was slow exposure, first i'd really fiddled with it successfully (relatively) or rather with any results i liked

#1 is not very impressive with a blown out left top side and only the headlights in focus. Maybe you can PP some life back into it but I would have written this one off.

#2 is a nice winter scape, but spoiled by the glare. Did you use a lens hood? Was your lens spot clean? With carefull PP you can mask the spots and try to get them sorted. And then you can do something about the exposure of the house too.

i used a lens polarizing filter on the second... guess the effect of blowing out the corner wasn't as cool as I thought then lol, thanks for the input.

Sorry, but what did you feel redeeming about #1? It has major technical issues. Exposure, DOF and composition.

#2 Subject being backlit here is killing this shot. You either needed to shoot this at a different time of day or walk around to the other side of the house.

I think you should work on composition before you start worrying about sunspots and such. But if you shoot into the sun, then you will have lens flare, hood or not. You can edit it out, but it's best if you intentionally shoot into the sun like that.

just thought it looked cool.. in response to the second, yes i know .. i was focusing on lighting over break, and therefore managed to screw up composition in just about every shot i took.. only snapped a few hundred, so i guess i can't complain too much for being lazy.
