anybody know how to do a batch re-size? I'm kinda up against the clock and want to get done on time. I have PSCS and the software that came with my wife's 1dsmk2-

Thanks

Have you tried DPP that came with the camera. Select pictures. Select Batch Process. Check resize. Enter size you want.

Thanks, I don't know why I did not think of that. It works great.

Other alternatives:
- Dr Browns Image Processor script (google it) - it's built into CS2 as image processor
- IrfanView (free)

Another choice:
If you have Windows XP, just install this Power Toy. Then while in Windows Explorer, you can simply select the files, right click and select resize.

I had to to make two different folders one for horizontal and one for vertical shots. My Elements only lets me pick one size, so I figured it would screw up one of them.

Is there any free resizer that can be compared with the outstanding quality of PS "bicubic" that takes a single %-number as argument?

PS! Imagemagick doesn't count here... it isnt' a standalone program for windows...

IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com), which was already mentioned above.

IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com), which was already mentioned above.

Latest version I have used was 3.7 (? -- can't remember exactly, it was end of year 2003) and I was then only able to get sawtooth for diagonal straight lines, so I had to stop using it.

Maybe it's better nowadays?

I have to give it another try!

Can't you just make resizing an action inside of PSCS and batch it that way?

I use UniDream PowerBatch. It has a bunch fo feature I don't use, but it does allow "filtering" as you mentioned (tirangle, bi-cubic, etc.) and I'm quite satisfied with the appearance of the diagonals of my processed image, so long as I don't accidentally turn the filter off. :)

I'm still not convinced about Ifranview 3.97

It does better than before, but in my opinion its best quality (slowest; "Lanczos"-filter) isn't comparable with "Bicubic"-option of Photoshop.

Not only sawtooth, but there are other artifacts too.

PS! Photoshop action isn't an option when you don't have PSCS :o
