Which is a better shot?

Here are two photographs my friend and I took. I will not say which belongs to who. Please, if you can, pick one and say why you think that photograph is better.

lol dude i cant believe you put this up lol... i dont really care though. yeah i took this picture and i dont care.... I was in the middle of moving and couldn't get my shot cuz of my baby but hey no excuses right. Well I get to get away with this cuz im a newb you have been doing photography for over a year now... Like I said I know the picture blows but I took the easy way out and thats that...... oh and for those of you wondering which is mine.. its the first one. "Let There Be Light".....

Mine isn't supposed to be the best either but you said it's an easy shot, too. That's why I posted it. To see which "cop out" shot is better. Lol.

I'm sorry I can't vote for either of these, they look like snapshots to me. For some constructive criticism, try to make the photo have a "feeling" attached to it, not just a quick capture.

maybe the first one with more dramatic lighting and an angle to it would be better and maybe in B&W but none do it for me either.
