The circus came to town and my son and I watched it. I pushed the ISO to 3200 for this one, and used a minipod to brace the cam against my chest. We sat at the very back, it was really dark, but I am glad with the result.

Great shot, especially for not using a tripod :)

Thanks! I'll try to put up a pic of the way I shoot with my "cheap IS" sometime.

This would have been a great shot under normal conditions. And, it's amazing under the condition you described. Excellent job. Where did you hide all the noise? Are you sure it's at 3200???;) ;) ;) Just j/k.

Thanks Leo! I went back and checked the Exif data, and yes, it is at ISO 3200. It was shot at 1/125, at f4, shot at 200mm, using the 70-200mm L, and using my cheap IS contraption :) The image was cropped, adjusted with levels (not much though) and the saturation was boosted just a bit. Surprisingly, the image had very little noise, but there were small points of reflected light (from watches probably) and a red exit sign that I had to clone out. For good measure, I ran it through Neat Image, which did produce a neat image!

Wow. That DID come out just gorgeous. That's a framer as far as I'm concerned.
