I bought this lens when I was in USA in april but never really got a chance to test it for real until today.

Some of the photos I shot in the zoo today was shot with the 85 mm f/1.8

Here is one of them

How very self-controlled of you Tommy!

It's all very well shooting actual things, but how well does it shoot a crooked plastic ruler?

The sharpening really brings home the bacon doesn't it. Excellent job.

Hehe not really, I have done some testing of boring subjects. For example these 2

I think I did some sharpening on the first one but did not on the second one.

Blimey Tommy,

That second shot and the Canon 20d – is that CA central

It's black on my 10d manual.

How did you light it, was there flash involved?

No flash. Had a halogen lamp turned on.

Nice shot Tommy! I sort of miss mine (sold it to Toogy a few weeks back) but I am saving the pennies and going to get myself the 1.2 version. Since I am mainly into portraiture, it is the lens to have for that type of shooting.
