It's not before time as they keep hanging on through re-financing. I feel sorry for unwitting customers who are still shopping there today and will never get the quality back-up that the decent dealers are offering.

Yep, Jessops PLC no longer run the Jessops chain of stores (IIRC) so no sales :(

I was in Jessops yesterday and asked the lady behind the counter about this. She said that although the PLC is no more, there are no plans to shut down the stores and it is business as normal.

Yep, I think HSBC own half of the Jessops chain now - you can bet they want their money back ;)

Good riddance maybe?

I tried them for a 5D a few months ago and they only had disply models, in the whole county.

The staff there seemed too busy taking photos of people for their passports not even acknowledging me despite having over £2000 to spend. Took me almost 15 minutes to get served in a store with 3 counter staff.

I got my 5D mkII there the other week whilst they had VAT on hold so the 24-105 kit was barely more expensive that at Warehouse Express plus they gave me a 16gb UDMA sandisk card for 1/3rd price (rrp ~£90) which was pretty good.

Shop people knew nothing about the camera though

From being a store that would take PX and match internet prices to a poorly stocked junk store with total photo ignorance behind the counter - good riddance!
