don't know if i'm posting this in the right place but...

since the last two shoots i did i'm experiencing major focussing problems with my 20D..

at least half of my shots are not sharp where i focussed..
i'm using a 24-70 2.8 L and a 70-200 2.8 L
the 24-70 is the lest reliable.. but it seems the 70-200 also gives me the same problems... especially at 70mm..
i used a 28-70 2.8 L from a friend, this one seems to give less problems... but isn't
completely ok neither..
When i used another focus point then the center one, the problem only becomes worse...

Now my question is.. can i be convinced it's the body?
i know of backfocus problems.. but didn't have any probz before.. the problem suddenly appeared. What about soms pics being sharp and some not?
maybe a stupid question.. but can it be beacause we suffer from extremely hot weather the last week?? +34° celcius..

one this is sure... i'm going CRAAAZZZY!

I would suggest to do a standard focus test using a ruler, then come back here and post the results.

That is a little extreme.... I wonder whether it is still solid!

How many focus points do you have active? If all are active, I would expect the problems you refer to. Try using only active focus point, this may, and should, solve your problem.

I know there's a slight difference when you're using the manual focusing scale, but of course the AF system doesn't need to know about that. While 34 is hot for where you and I live. it's very normal in a lot of places. I got my 20D when I was in Florida and it was high 30s most days. I had no problems, and nor did my camera :)

Hello, I'm from Belgium to (Limburg) and it's nice to meet a fellow country man here. From where are you in Belgium?
I have the same lens as you have and all works fine for me, no problems with it in these temperatures.

Thx guys for replying!

Salleke: i'm from Kortenberg, next zo Zaventem
Mohawk: only 1 af at a time.. mostly the middle one, because the the right one for example focusses even worse...

i'm getting a 2nd hand 300D this afternoon as backup, so i'm going to test it with my lenses..
