Messing around with my latest copy of the 85mm f1.8 and I swear that this time I am keeping the lens. Here's as creative as I could get with my workbench...single light on camera bounced off a white board above the vice 1/100th @ 100 ISO f2.8

Love it. I owned one a bit back and sold it after a week since I needed a lens for a shoot and that wasn't it. I also owned the 100 f2 (almost identical to the 85) and loved that but didn't use it as much as I thought so I sold that. Finally went back to the 85 and now find myself looking for more opportunities to use it. Its fast, and sharp and very compact. Great portrait lens and suitable for low light sports indoors. Honestly, I find almost no drawbacks to owning this lens. I particularly like it on the 1.3 crop although I use it on the 30D too and liked it there as well.

lol, probably remember where to go from a misspent youth! If you're up this way and want to go shoot around, drop me a note. I don't spend enough time shooting for personal pleasure anymore so I always love the chance to do so.

Yeah, that's right! We should do that man. Just think, in another four months we should have a two week window of decent weather to get out!

There are some great vacant buildings on the lower west side, and a few out near where we met. Holden Arboretum is cool for more nature stuff as is the Buckeye trail neer Penninsula. Little Italy is FANTASTIC to shoot in the summer if you like street photography. In fact, that would be my call. Do LI then head over to Coventry.
