Using a SanDisk Ultra II card in my 20D. I was viewing the images on the LCD screen and also on a TV. I advanced to the next picture and it gave me a message saying "Unknown Imgage Type?". This was the only picture out of 130 on the card that was like this. Has anyone else run into anything like this?

Something happened while it was being stored and now it is missing a detail necessary for your software to recognize it as a .jpg = 1 lost pix. That's my guess.

I suppose there is a chance that a computer guru with a disk editor might be able to see just what hex characters cause the equipment to identify it as a .jpg, then edit those characters into your faulty file and rescue it that way. No doubt there is just one hex character that was changed. I say this only as somebody who used to have a lot of fun editing computer files to get them to do strange and wonderful things.... :)
