We have some very talented and gifted people in this forum in different areas of photography. So was wondering if you like to have a Q&A session with these experts. Of course they have to agree to be "interviewed" first, but assuming some of them agree to to the idea, would you like these sessions.
I attempted this idea with Martin (Martin Images) but I messed up that post real bad. My apologies to Martin and hope he is not mad at me. I'll post a link to that thread if anybody is interested.
So what do you think about this proposal.

I really like the idea and is an oppertunity to learn in the areas we are interested as well as pick up knowledge in other areas to store for later.

Thanks Dave. I really like this idea (other than it's my own :D )
What would you guys think a good rules/guidelines for the sessions would be. Shall we limit it by time (say a week) or the number of questions (10-20). Each session can not go on forever me think.
Other ideas?

I wonder on wht level the questions should be asked though. To be honest, I'm tired of all those "beginner tips" and I want more in-depth knowledge.
So maybe have several levels? Both basic, to understand basic photography, but also more advanced questions that amatuers might not understand at first (but will eventually), that's useful for others right away.

That's a brilliant suggestion CyberPet.
These sessions will be limited to what you called "advanced" questions. We assume that the person asking did his/her research before asking (myself included). These experts don't have the time to answer every nitty critty kind of question, unless the interviewee is willing to.

Another suggestion. I think the limit by no. of questions is appropriate for this kind of sessions.
Btw, we already have a person to interview. Thank you Mr. "X" :D

The first interview will start in the next few days. Will have to agree with Mr. "X" on the best time to start.
Mr. "X" specializes in live musical events photography. His work is breathtaking. Full of life. You can feel you are there by looking at his photos. He gives you a front seat to that event when in actuality you are looking at your PC monitor.

I don't know if it's been suggested but for each of the individuals that agrees to do the Q&A could you post examples of they're work so that we may ask them specific questions about how certain results where achieved or why they decided one way of shooting the scene was better than another,
and also how they overcame or worked with various technical issues.

I like the idea, and I have also some tips about who Mr. X is. But since its not my business, I to not even try to guess :D
But count me in !

For that most part, that's what this whole forum is.. people with questions and those who know the answer give it. Seems a bit redundant to me. If you have questions, just post!

Great idea. When do we get to ask questions?

Sure, that's what I had in mind. I'll give a brief intro to the person's work with examples, and a link to his/her website if they have one.

The first session already started under the title "Q&A: Dwight McCann".
Enjoy. And thanks in advance to Mr. McCann.
