Please shoot! :)
NB. Image is 641Kb.
Out walkning along the railroad with my new EF 50mm f/1.4. ISO 100, 1/125 s, wide open. Imported using the Camera Raw (my first raw session - now i see the advantage!!!:D). Used the preset "cloudy" because it was late evening, sun almost down and a bit overcast. The "cloudy" thing made it look like an old photo, which i thought went well wit the railroad enviroment. The train in the upper left corner i an IC3 (that's what it's called in Denmark).

Don't be gentle. I'm interest in learning.
Cheers.

I really like the black and white one - it's a shame that the sign with the arrow isn't slightly more blurred (just my personal preference), but it's a great shot.

:) hope you dont mind my input ,i do a lot of macro work along these lines(no pun) and i think you shot could benefit from a close crop also a gausian mask to blurr out the rails that are not sufficiently out of focus. if you prefer you can re take this picture with a tighter crop within the frame which could blurr out the background better . lower the angle of view if you can which will clean up the foreground also decide which is your subject the yellow disc or the white arrow .dont stop taking macro shots the effect will be different if you use your zoom your 50 is a prime lens and is not the best for macro work . hops this helps:) :) :)

I generally hate that type of thing, but see possibilities. Can you try it with a long (1/2 sec) shutter speed with a train going by in the background?

Not at all. That is what this is all about. :) I don't do alot of macro, but i see the potential of a closer crop.

What kinds of things? It's busy station. I guess i will try the ½ sec. shutter speed thing. I recon that the picture is a bit static.
...but it's a great shot
Thanks. :D I like the b/w the best too.

Things like a pic of a rusty switcher! ;-) "Arty" stuff like that doesn't hold my interest for long. So "a train going by in the background", a yard man walking, or even a dog "P"ing would up my interest quotient. ;-)

Ahh, okay. :) Well. If i did'nt kill someone by removing that switcher i would love to have one of those at home :D Like things like that. I take photos of everything thats rusty. ;)

It would be better if the oncoming train in the very upper left corner was more in focus, positioned lower in the frame, and bigger. Most people might miss it completely.
