Started to experiment taking pictures of the stars with my g10, its not a fetish .... but just practising to see what results I can get. The problem I've got is that I cant seem to be able to get the shutter open for more than 15 seconds. Is it possible with the g10 or do I need to get something else. I looked at the RS-60E3 but I cant see if this will allow me to lock the shutter open for as long as I want. If not what other options are there.
Thanks.

You can always take multiple successive 15s exposures and blend them together in photoshop, or some other software.

3 - 15 second exposures will yield the same picture. No point in blending 3 identical shots.
A 20 or 30 second exposure lets more light in.

Yeah,,,, if you are really patient you could take a couple hundred pictures and stack them; then you would get the circular star streaking I'm assuming you are going for.

I'm guessing a CHDK wouldn't be viable?
