Does "Greatly reduced wrinkles compared to normal muslin" mean that you can take it on location and use it without steaming? If so, do you roll it, stuff it in a bag...?

I almost ordered some, but haven't used them yet, so I'm interested to see what responses you get.

We have 2. A tan diamond cloth and a black one. While I love them they are lying to you when they say they don't wrinkle or are hard to wrinkle. That you can stuff them in a bag for a shoot. That is a joke... Tried it and was floored at how wrinkly it was coming out of the bag. I swear I wanted to cry because we had steamed it and it had taken us awhile. That's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back, lol. They feel like the old polyester so they are durable. I was hoping for more of a seamless look but really I guess we aren't going to get that unless we use paper. Good luck with it. :)

I should add I guess the black is pretty much seamless after photoshop even though when your working with it it doesn't look like it will be. But just adjusting it in raw does wonders. :) Here's a picture of the black diamond cloth. (she looks awkward I know...she was super shy)

I have a few

10*20 in black, navy blue and red
10*10 in white

They aren't wrinkle free - but they are considerably better than muslin. I stuff mine in the bags, and have never steamed them. Mine are also covered in pug fur, as I have two pug puppies that like to be involved in everything!

Every photo in this gallery was done on a diamond cloth - except for the silver, and patterned shots (Metallic and ModCloth series from Backdrop Outlet respectively)

Hahaha!

Thats my wife - we're both long *long* time BME and IAM folks - but haven't been around for the last few years - too many politics :)

This is a slightly better angle for you!

For those who don't know - BME is a website dedicated to Body Modification (tattoo's, piercing and much more extreme stuff) :)

I am on IAM. I havent used it for a whole lot lately. I deleted it when the Shannon thing happened. But I am back on there now. I am a tattoo artist and piercer. So its good to have the connections on there.

IAM Casper if your still on.

Thanks for the info and the great pictures! The gelled ones look good too! I wonder if you could roll one on a 10' PVC drain pipe and not get creases. Would that work for regular muslin after steaming?

I'm sure it would work, but then you'd have a fairly heavy 10' pipe to carry everywhere you go - I can't imagine it would be very convenient!

While I can see creases in some of the lighter clothes (like white) and sometimes the original fold crease (remember, I never steamed mine) shows up - it's normally very easy to clone out.

I got a grey one for myself during Backdrop Outlet's sale. It has some terrible fold creases. but no real wrinkles from being in the bag, it all depends on how tight you stuff it into the bag. I tried to iron out the creases after I used it this weekend. We will see if they come back.

I have not used it for production work yet. So far only playing arround with it to see what colors I can get from it with gels. Did some selfies this weekend. I started just shooting the background gelled, then decided I needed to be in the image to check seperation. Lighting is just 1 beauty dish with grid, no reflectors or anything else. The back ground is lit with just a 433D through Roscco gells just sitting on a table, no flags, to the left next to the BD. No top support for the background, just the 2 stands. That is why it sags in the middle.

there is a shop on ebay with these pretty cheap, given the price I'd think you can't go wrong

I like mine, I have black, White, gray, red and a pinkish so far. maybe my price range on muslins (cheap ) make them wrinkle more, but there was no comparison once u got the original fold creases out!
