OMG! I'm actually posting a picture!! This would be the first one I've posted that I took with the 300d. This is probably just a snap - set to auto (still haven't learned or figured out when/why/how to adjust things like ISO etc. This was taken around 4 this afternoon at my parents' place while we were sitting on the dock. Brogan is facing west but the sun was blocked by a ton of trees beside the house although in another one taken about two seconds before he looks much brighter. Actually, I'll post that one too for comparison. Is he dark because I was zoomed in?? Does he look a little flat? The colour looks pretty good on my computer but then I haven't calibrated my monitor yet (I know, I know...) so for all I know it could be incredibly wonky. How does the colour look?

CC is appreciated - whatever you've got. I wasn't trying to set up the picture for the perfect shot so I'm not disappointed or anything in how it turned out. I use a lot of his pictures for digital scrapbooking, not to print out and hang on the wall.

Hopefully these don't come out too small. The second one isn't cropped, I'm just throwing it in so you can see the difference in light at the front. At least I see a difference. Not sure where to find my setting info; I'll have to look for that. A bit of USM and also a crop in the first pic but other than that... Oh and slight play with the curves to brighten a wee bit.
