I was at a local antique car show on Father's Day and noticed that there was the front half of a car on a small trailer sitting in the shade. It turns out that this was actually a stage prop from the community theater's version of "Grease".
Above all else, since this was in the shade, the colors were not blown and I thought they looked pretty good. I just tried focusing on some of the lines and curves of the car. What do you think? Are these too dark? Are the patchy reflections too distracting?
These have been modified in PS Elements (color saturation, levels, blurred the background etc)

Ummmmmm.......
Did I do something wrong? :o
I don't seem to get many responses about my posts and I posted this deliberately in the critique corner for feedback. I hope I have not accidently done something to offend anyone.
Maybe my photos aren't as good as I like to think?

Don't worry mate...I sometimes get posts that go unanswered or unnoticed, especially when there are a lot of new hot threads.
I'm not really qualified to give an expert critique on your shots but I personally loved them.
Very nice colours and saturation.
I recently invested in a circular polarizing filter and what a difference it makes when shooting cars!

Thanks for the quick response!
I am just a rookie here and I guess I am feeling a little insecure when the comments(good or bad) dry up! I am still new to photography and have a lot to learn!

I am not qualified to give a technical critique but...
I like the first shot very much for the sleek lines, curves and colors and for the fact that it is not the typical car shot (not into cars much lol). This one is very artistic in nature also.
The second one doesn't float my boat because as I see it, it is just a crop of the front of a colorful car. I don't really see anything artistic here. However, I will say that the highlights, shadows and again the colors are wonderful.
The car buffs and the experienced photographers will probably disagree with everything I've said and I hope I didn't hurt your feelings any. I personally think you are on the right track with your talent so keep up the good work.

I like the first one as well, though I agree a polarizer would have minimized the reflections.

Thanks for the feedback!
Spots: you gave me excellent criticism and not only do I NOT take it personally, these are EXACTLY the types of comments I am looking for! I need to see my shots from other's perspectives and this helps tremendously.
GPR1: Thanks for the tip about the polarizer: I do own a circular polarizer but it didn't even occur to me to use it to tone down the reflections. Once again, more excellent advice that I humbly thank you all for!

I like what you're doing. Too bad about the reflections, but sometimes you just have to shoot when you can.
For those other times, take a look at this:
