Hi,
Took these earlier today. I was pretty happy with how they turned out especially as this was my first attempt at sports/action photography. Any comments/tips would be greatly appreciated. I used my 20D and 70-200 L on AV mode set to 2.8.
I used only the centre AF point. Was this correct decision for this kind of sport?

You should be happy, you've got a nice selection of shots there, a very good first attempt!! I especially like this shot 003 (http://www.sureslimsupport.com/photography/sports/003.jpg) though I'd love to see the player in blues supporting leg.
I've been taking a few rugby shots recently too and am tending to take them with a 'landscape' orientation so as to get less of the foreground/sky and more of the flying limbs. It's fun getting out watching and getting shots of the kids playing rugby isn't it!

Thanks for the feedback. I had a fantastic morning. Makes me want to look at shooting sports more often. I am going to try my hand at gymnastics next. There is an international competition in my city next week.
I am going to upload and attach the photos. I can't host them where I had them any more.
