Oh, it didn't start out that way what with the support call on the network I wired for my Barber Shop yesterday (I'm retired and just take the odd job when opportunities present themselves). And yes, the Barber Shop is putting in a free wireless network for customers....At any rate that turned out to be just a piece of equipment unplugged but while there they decided to cut me a check for the work. So I left there a little richer, went to the book store and picked up a copy of Mastering Flash Photography with a gift certificate I had. From there to Best Buy to get a CP for my kit lens with a gift card from a good neighbor who needed some computer help a bit ago. But the reason I'm posting this here is that from Best Buy I went over to the camera shop and picked up a Canon 50 mm f1.8. Been wanting one ever since reading and viewing forum posts but even that was not possible price wise until the barber shop job. I really like the sharpness and speed of the lens, especially compared to the kit lens. I can post some comparison pictures of the two if you like (NOT!). At any rate, I am very pleased thus far with the lens and the results I've been able to get with it. It is a cheap but valuable addition to the kit.
