I wonder if that IS where they got Suki's name, and they just changed the spelling. (or didn't know how to spell it).
On a side note, I really like Anna Paquin.

I think I'll make a few different ones and take them all. We can interchange them.
How's about this?Awwwwww!!!!!
ROFL... Jonathan was helping me with the laundry and brought me some socks that my Grandma got me for Christmas. They reminded me of something but I just can't put my finger on it, maybe you guys could help me out? I took some snapshots so you could see what I was talking about:
I know it had to do with a baby
http://gagliardi.zenfolio.com/img/v6/p263088918-4.jpg
Maybe a baby that was sitting??
http://gagliardi.zenfolio.com/img/v6/p453102402-4.jpg
Calling Grandma for help, maybe she remembers
http://gagliardi.zenfolio.com/img/v2/p443507485-4.jpg
Just can't put my finger on it...
Bwahahahahahahahahahahha
GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I sure hope this terrible abuse of colourful fashion on wee boys does not take hold this side of the border.
giggle
Poor Kirby was decaffeinated today. I hated to do it to him amidst all the other stuff he'd been through, but there was no other way if we're keeping him here. He was just TOO interested in Star, and she can't be spayed yet.
While they had him under anesthesia, they rechecked/cleaned his foot, and ended up putting some stitches in it.
Poor guy.. he is so doped up.
And they re-wrapped his foot with PINK wrapping, and made it into a little bootie. We think it looks like a ballerina slipper, and we've been calling him prissy boy all night. And, well... now, it kinda fits. LOL :lol:Awwwwwww poor Kirby!
Thanks!
That is the one that I sent to Teresa (Leslie's mom). She was extatic (orange portion of signature)
Great E shots Jamie and Glad you can spell orange or we might not find out that you can't spell! *snort*
I don't wear striped leggings, do you think I should?
That would be wake up time for me.
With an apron!
Heck go give him a shake, wake him up good, when he asks whats up tell him Zane said to wake him because we can't sleep.
Bwahahahhahahahah
G'MAE! It's countdown to major snow again here... things closing early all over the place... Calling for anywhere from 6-15 inches of snow depending on what weather group you watch...
And I'm at work! It's been busy as all get out the past few days so I haven't gotten to check in much lately! Didn't quote a lot but am caught up!
Nice machinery pics ya'll!
I'm off for my lunch hour pretty early because I want to get some errands done today and don't want to get the lunch time traffic when I go out to do it!

Oh, really, the name Suki, or Sookie or any other variant of the name has been with history for centuries.
Oswald "Sooky" McDavers: Recognized as the first person to do a "Pub Crawl" in London, 1658.
Soo Kee Wing: Asian Diplomat that brought North American's attention to the ever popular "Chop Stick" in 1746. It was a very popular diet product until someone, namely Suke E. Larnell, Jr. paired the Chop Stick with another Chop Stick to make Chop Sticks. The diet fad quickly faded after that.
Sue Keye: Pianist during the raucous Inauguration Party of Andrew "Old Hickory" Jackson, 1829.
Buster "Sookie" Plathers: Most famous bare knuckled fighter of the Winter of 1909. Especially around January. 18th. About 6:13. Really, really famous right then.
Su Kee 109: The much ballyhooed Russian military aircraft, modeled after the Piper Cub. Noted as the cause of the Stalingrad siege of WWII due to it's slow airspeed and inability to shuttle messages quickly enough.
Suki: A wild, rabid dog that ravaged Southern Utah in 2008-2009. Has since gone missing.
See? Very popular name.

Sid, yeah, if I don't stay up this late, I don't get anything done. Some of these images I'm not comfortable having up on the screen while the kids are awake so....yeah. Plus, w/hubby gone, I just don't sleep so well a lot of times. I've joined Zane and Wool's vampire club.
I commend you on your efforts to watch porn when the kids are down. ;) :p

Wow, Neil, that's great! I look forward to "seeing" you there.
This is the easiest way to find and request "Friends"
Go to Settings>Privacy>Filter>Advanced Filter>Classified Super Secret Filter>click on "Freaks that Frequent Facebook" make sure it's NOT checked, otherwise you'll never find us.
Once you've checked that, go back to Settings>Profile>Edit Profile>Status>and tick the box next to "Freakin' Freakest Friend Forever". This will make sure that we'll be able to find you.
OK, with those two small chores done, we can go to the next level. Go to Friends>Find Friends> and here you'll have the following choices that will help refine your search:
Friends that I don't even know
Friends that I don't want to know
Friends that are actually family, but I don't ever want them to know that I'm on Facebook.
Friends that are really Stalkers or Phishers that are looking to steal my identity.
Friends from my past that I thought were either incarcerated or dead.
Friends that I would like to stalk or steal their identity.
Friends that make great sandwiches.
Friends that are SUPER freaks, but have cameras.
Using the above tools, you'll be able to make your searches much simpler.
Remember, when typing in the name of the friend you're looking for, there are some very simple rules:
Use real names, not our prison names. Like, if you were looking for me, typing in "Monster Dawg" won't lead you to me, nor will "Fluffy Joy" won't lead you to TD.
Be sure to use the language that you're signed in with. For some reason, "Klingon" hasn't been authorized for Facebook yet, so use your other keyboard for the searches.
It won't help the search parameters to insert characteristics of the person for whom you are searching. Typing in, "Dan Campbell, Hero of the Universe" SHOULD get you to me, but, really, it won't. My profile is very humble, oddly enough.
Looking forward to seeing you on yet another Internet Black Hole of Wasted Time.

Neil, up in the top right corner of your page, there should be a little link that says 'friend requests'.
Also, there is a little box on the bottom right that says 'notifications'.
Friend requests should show up in either of those. (I think)

I tried my hand last night at some star trails. First attempt at ever doing anything like this and while I'm not real thrilled with the results, I at least learned that clouds are indeed the devil when shooting this kind of thing. Especially with light pollution and a full moon. lol

Gig Harbor would be a good location but i wonder how much the harbor would add to light pollution? I wouldn't mind shooting on the back side of Gig Harbor towards Tacoma across commencement bay with the port and the mountain. Might look cool at Sunrise. I tried my hand last night at some star trails. First attempt at ever doing anything like this and while I'm not real thrilled with the results, I at least learned that clouds are indeed the devil when shooting this kind of thing. Especially with light pollution and a full moon. lol
I shot 25 second "subs" and then combined them with a program from www.startrails.de
Not a bad first try, but as you learned, you really do need to be as far away from a light pollution source as possible. Shoot with a clear sky and as near to a new moon as possible.
Also, don't be afraid to let your camera do the whole job. There's no real need to sandwich a bunch of short exposures together. Your camera can handle keeping the shutter open for the whole time. I've done several of 40-minute exposures with my 20D. Just make sure your battery has a full charge and use a remote shutter release that can lock the shutter open.

Lonnie, normally I would do a full exposure rather than using subs as I did last night. However, what I had read in the celestial share area was that if you DO have a light pollution issue then using subs can reduce the problem. If at some point I am actually away from civilization I will most certainly be going for a single long exposure. :) For now I'll play around in my back yard.

Best place i've been to, in the US, where light pollution is at it's least amount is Mt Washington in upstate NH. Nearest city is hours away, and there are only tiny towns nearby...

Interesting. I never knew that could help eliminate light pollution doing it that way.

It doesn't really "eliminate" it but it enabled me to shoot 38 25-second frames (before my battery died) lol. If I were to try shooting a 15 minute shot last night it would have been completely blown out. So in a sense it "eliminates" the problem by simply exposing for lengths of time that wont blow the image. Did I explain that clearly? lol

It doesn't eliminate it, but limits it to what the lights are emitting it is as opposed to "over exposing".
Then it joins the small amounts of star trails you have together to make a nice long one.

The best place within a half day's drive to me is the Grandview Campground in the White Mountains, on the border between California and Nevada, across the Owens Valley from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Up there, you're many hours away from any major city that could cause problems. The closest town is Bishop, with only 3,500 residents, about 40 or 50 miles away and 6,000' lower in elevation. I've never seen any other place on earth with such clear skies. When you're up there at night, you don't need a flashlight. You can see millions of stars in the sky and they keep the entire campground lit well enough to see your way around.
The only problem is, it can get a little difficult to find an available spot to camp. The campground is VERY popular with amateur astronomers, not to mention all the hikers that head up there.

There's a place in the Olympics called Hurricane Ridge. We used to go up there so my dad could shoot star trails. It's pretty dark up there too and it's got a good elevation.

Dan stumbles around at 4 am like a very slow moving freight train. I've tried to make him bfast before and he's tried to eat it but usually it all ends with "I'm sorry...I'm just not functional in the mornings"

It was a big thing in my family. My Dad, being a Scotophile, hated all things Irish. In fact, when he went on a cruise around the British Isles, he refused to disembark in Ireland. When we were kids and it was St. Patty's day, we were told to wear orange not green. We wore green anyway, but with some orange somewhere. It became a joke with my sister and I to send him St. Patty's Day cards, call him and wish him a Happy St. Patrick's Day, send him a bouquet of green clovers for March 17th, etc, just to see him get all riled up. We even had a dog, Shammy, that was born on St. Patty's day. To Dad, that birthday seemed to be an affront to him. So, with Tif's birthday scheduled to be on the 17th, I was a little.... hesitant... :D

One thing I love most about living here in the high desert is the clear skies. Even though there are about a third of a million people living in the Antelope Valley, we're all pretty scattered hither and yon and the light pollution isn't anywhere near as bad as on the other side of that mountain range, where there are several million people living on that side of Los Angeles County.
But, still, there are nowhere near as many stars visible here as what I can see by spending the three or four hours driving to Grandview Campground...

I didn't know there were tensions between the Scottish and Irish? I have many Scottish friends that live in Scotland still and there seems to be an affinity there and a common dislike of the English. ;) I thought Andy Murray's recent comments were QUITE funny. When he loses his matches he's Scottish. When he's winning, he's British. (To the Media).
Anyhow, is this something specific with your Dad and his family or something else Dan?

When living in Northern Ireland, days like St Paddy, and also the Orangemen Parade were days you didn't want to be out and about in quite a few places. I lived next door to some hardcore UFF people who would wear balaclavas, shoot into the sky, and "kneecap" people. But they were really friendly to me (because i wasn't a protestant or a catholic)...
The protestant kids about 10-12 yrs old on the train would shout out all these King Richard songs to the catholic kids and they in return would throw bricks, bottles and everything else at the train as we were moving along...

I was there in 2000 and in 2007. Never felt unsafe at all. It's a beautiful area. I'd go back any chance I got. Although I was somewhat disappointed in Bushmills. I expected the town of one of the largest distilleries in Ireland to be a little more alive. There was a lot of abandoned and run down stuff. Thought it was weird.

Use real names, not our prison names. Like, if you were looking for me, typing in "Monster Dawg" won't lead you to me, nor will "Fluffy Joy" won't lead you to TD.
It won't help the search parameters to insert characteristics of the person for whom you are searching. Typing in, "Dan Campbell, Hero of the Universe" SHOULD get you to me, but, really, it won't. My profile is very humble, oddly enough.

Oh now fb is just being BOSSY to me!
I had a large poster print done up at Costco, it came out GREAT! 20x30 for 8.99, you upload a bunch of photos to a folder and they create the collage, if you don't like how they chose the photos hit shuffle. I really like the way it came out *and* that I didn't have to obsess over where the photos were going and what size to make them!
Yay!
Hi folk. Caught up, no quotes.
Hi. Caught up, have quotes. Slacker :p

anyone heard of / bought from these guys?
http://www.2filters.com/
I have and will again soon. They are a good place to buy from and knowledgeable about their products. I've emailed them a number of times and usually get a response within 24 hr. what kind of filters are you looking at?

Well, I took a bit of a nap. Time to face the cold, place another hook, and hang a suet feeder. I saw a nuthatch last weekend I'd like to bring in closer.Nice, read or white breasted? We had a pair of reds of two years, never seen another since.
Slacker :pYes :p Hi T;)

Not sure, he was at a feeder briefly, Sunday with his breast to the feeder, he didn't flash for me to catch whether there was color not.

Obviously not a swallow as a 5 ounce bird could not carry it
It could be carried by an African swallow!
One look at this, and you'll be de-friending him quicker than you friended him on FB

I thought he looked better than usual in that shot. Not sure what it was...... :D
An Apology - I do not have a clue what I am doing on Facebook or what the protocols are. Some of you have sent me a Hi note and I haven't got a clue what to do with them
You sound just like me a few months back when I first got on there, it seemed quite confusing at first. There is still lots I can't figure out, like why there is a "Live Feed" and a "News Feed" and what each one really does, except show different posts by others.

Fella here at work gets that as well. I had to run out and fetch him DRAMAMINE® on a couple of occasions just to get him through the day.

But only if, in order to maintain air-speed velocity, it beats its wings forty-three times every second

That would be your common European swallow, it still couldn't handle it. Only an African swallow could handle carrying a coconut.

It is my nutso cat on the bed, it is had to take the video and spread out the covers at the same time. that is what makes him nuts, when you pull the blanket, also the iPhone camera isn't particularly wide angle.

The raccoon is his best friend...he carries it all over the house and attacks it at will. we find it in our bed most mornings when we wake up.

Just got back from walking the dogs & going to the store & getting information on the new doggy daycare that is just blocks from us. We want to get them registered so that if we need to, we can drop them off for a couple of hours.

We are within a few minutes drive of several locations that astronomers frequent. Even in my neighborhood, it is amazing how many stars you can see at night. Now all we need is a night that is clear!
Not clear tonight! It's snowing!!!
That's great, Bucky. Woogles has done well being left home the last few night we went to dinner.
On another note Woogles is 24 pounds now.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
