He's got the 'sporting' lab look, with the blocky head and shorter legs. We don't see labs like him very often in this area.

He is an outstanding looking boy....very much the hunter line. I bet he has a champion or two in his bloodline.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!

G'MAE all! I have been snowed in today but had FUN! My kids are at their dad's so I went down to a neighbors house. (if you don't remember I live currently in the house I grew up in). My long time neighbors daughter (my age) drove up from Raliegh to be here for the snow. I walked down to her folks house and we 'played' today. LOL It was so nice, we talked for hours, all of us put together a puzzle, had dinner, it was a really nice way to spend a snowy day!

Any left over tequila?

LONNIE on your video, Bax perked his ears and did that side to side thing with his head.

CAT Bax did the same thing when he heard Kerby's squeaky toy:lol: No kidding about the chemistry between Luna and M, the allergy thing is such a shame. Why is it Luna isn't getting adopted? She seems like a sweet girl. Because she's waiting for the perfect one. ;)

http://lcimages.zenfolio.com/img/v1/p328896403.gifLOVE this one!

Do you remember the story of us going to to that FULL shelter because they were putting dogs down, but they would only let us 'choose' from 5 dogs? And we ended up taking that senior border collie, who was mostly deaf? Who had been beaten?

SHE got adopted. By a most wonderful amazing loving family. Total tears when that one happened.

Skrim17
30th of January 2010 (Sat), 23:06
My brother started calling her that, the Cashes name was something with her pedigree and where my brother fished. She lived her first 6 years with him on his boat most of the year, at their house over the winter.

Our childhood dog, Tammy, we called...are you ready?? Tammy Whammy Sticky Poopy Doopy Whoopy Good Girl on a regular basis, so Hoopie came from the poopy doopy whoopy family.

Hey. Queen of the first official MMQ. I know you care ;) I do believe we are to the point in our friendship that it goes without saying :)

..... Which in no way implies that I take you for granted. *quickly gathers bouquet of friend gifts including, but not limited to, one slightly used shoulder, one clean sleeve for snot wiping, a bar of spicy dark and a bottle of good red* Awwww, nice :D

He's got the 'sporting' lab look, with the blocky head and shorter legs. We don't see labs like him very often in this area.I thought Sporting, American, or Field labs were long and lean like Bax, Maggie, or Harley. English, Show, or "Bench" labs tend to be heavy and blocky.

ZANE cute Dots-in-Snow.

Long day, came home to the bathroom waste basket spewed all over, a chewed up furniture mover glide thingy. and small remains of one maybe two stalks of my bay plant.:rolleyes:Thanks and uh oh,lol.

Ok, you don't have to watch the whole thing (it's not that exciting, lol), but at about 0:43, M came to visit, and this was Luna's reaction to seeing her again.Awww, sniff.

now it's time for a "how to" show on crop circles:

Thing's you'll need:

A light plank (4-6 feet in length) with a rope (10-12 feet) knotted through holes in each end. Alternatively, you may prefer to buy a light garden roller from a garden centre. (I'm too cheap to buy a roller...a board will do)
A surveryors reel measuring tape as it doesnt stretch. Rope or nylon can be used but may stretch and make wobbly edges to circles. (My circle edges will probably be wobbly anyway, since the balance board made note of my falling down a lot )
Marking poles - paint tips white to aid visibility at night (wonders if flame boy will volunteer for this job instead)
Protractor for measuring angles (it's just way wrong to say "bring a protractor" I mean come on...are we alien nerds or what??? EYEBALL it for heaven's sake...)
Measuring tape (100 ft) (This of course means just that...measuring tape...scotch tape, painters tape...and for all you handymen out there...duck tape...WILL NOT DO)
Night-vision goggles (optional) - your eyes adjust to complete dark in 20 minutes. (Oh sure...everyone has a pair of these in a drawer somewhere...comes in handy for those late night trips to the fridge when you & your partner are dieting and you don't want them to know you are sneaking...)
Laser-pointer to assist placing markers (optional) (This is optional? EVERYONE wants to play with lasers...but nooooooo the archaic instructions make protractors a necessity and lasers an option? yeah...beam me up Scotty...)
A really good imagination! (rdn) (Dan...you're needed on wheat field 3...)

The powder here is under the frozen icy crust of the top 1/2 inch of snow! Cooper is just light enough to 'hover' on that crust for just a few second before it cracks under his weight and he goes deeper down into the snow. It makes me laugh!

You don't have to leave the country to see something different. When I was a kid (pre-civil war era), we would visit my aunt & uncle in Wisconsin. Apparently there was a law against making margarine that looked like butter. It wasn't actually yellow, and in its natural state, looked more like lard. It was sold in a plastic bag with a little blob of food coloring. The idea was to knead the bag of margarine to mix in the dye. Then, it looked like butter.

I saw that in Ontario when I went to visit Lisa's parents many years ago. It was not a nice sight.

Here is the body of an email someone sent me about margarine and butter. I have no idea how much of this is actually true, I never bothered to check. Regardless, it has a couple interesting points.

Pass The Butter .. Please.
This is interesting. .. .
Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put the money into the research wanted a pay-back so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.
It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavourings..
DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?
Read on to the end...gets very interesting!
Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine.
Eating margarinecan increaseheart diseasein women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavour of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .
And now, for Margarine..
Very High in Trans fatty acids which are outlawed in some countries.
Triples risk of coronary heart disease .
Increases total cholesteroland LDL(this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..
Lowers quality of breast milk.
Decreases immune response. Decreases insulin response. And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... and shares 27 ingredients with PAINT
These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).
You can try this yourself:
Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:
* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)
* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?
Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to butter them up')!

Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.
Pass the BUTTER PLEASE and remember, butter is a food, margarine is a chemical.
