I hear you, it took me 6 weeks to finally get clear of it. It never was debilitating for me, but I was sure feeling crappy with it. I guess it affected everyone somewhat different.Well, it's two weeks for me now and today is the first day back at work.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better soon.Thanx

I hope you get completely well soon!Thanx

Hi JJ, I thought you went off on holiday to somewhere nice and tropical without the 18% grey...

Hope you get better soon.We did head down to San Antonio to see my son finish basic. It was a real whirlwind trip. Every minute was chocked full of activities. Did come back with some nice pics though.

J-dawg welcome back! I've missed you so. I kept a candle burning on my hope chest dreaming of this day.your scaring me. ;)

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all doing well!!! I've been quite busy lately. 2 weeks ago, I had friends over here with their 15 month old daughter. It was a great weekend, we went sledging and I took TONS of shots of the cute little girl ;-)

We went above the village of Engelberg and had a great lunch... before the evening cheese fondue...

Last weekend, I went skiing and spent a nice weekend with friends.. I'm heading to geneva tomorrow...

With so much occupation, I haven't been able to stop by here :-( But I DO think of you...

I guess it would depend how much it is. If it is a very good price, why not consider it if you can afford it... On the other hand, I'd probably keep the money and do a trip to use the current gear ;-)

I wouldn't say there are any "very good" prices on it. Everyone is pretty much selling it for the same price. I can afford it and spending it on a trip isn't an option in this case.

I just found out that I'm getting a settlement from my car accident back in October. We also found out we're indeed getting money BACK instead of paying on our taxes so the wife must be feeling generous. Plus she's still feeling happy about that spendy ring I bought for her right hand back on our 5-year anniversary. ;) lol

So all that being said, I have some money to play with.

I also just thought of something else. I'm wondering if I might be happier buying a classic 5D and a 16-35 L instead of the Mk II... I'd have the IQ of a 5-series AND I would still have UWA glass that I would lose by upping to full-frame.

FWIW Kody, I thought the 17-40 was better at landscapes (not so much light fall off on FF and corners not as soft) than the 16-35II. I owned both.

Just the kind of info I need. Although the 10-20 has a lot of softness and light fall off as well, I never minded it. I just LOVED 10mm though. I honestly think I will miss 10 since I will only go to 17 instead of 16. :p

Hardest part about sourdough is it takes so long to prepare. 30 minutes to rest, 1.5hrs to ferment and then 2.5 hours to proof.

I stepped on the scale this morning, and according to it, I already have two bodies.

It may be most of those episodes were filmed before he was promoted. I have a feeling he's career oriented. I suspect we haven't heard that last of him in an Air Force uniform and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up commanding a fighter wing somewhere.

The way we see it Lisa...we will pay what we need to for Dora to make her well or more comfortable. Even if it means that we have to make payments to the vet, put it on a credit card or get a small loan...of course the latter two being something of a last resort especially a loan. But 1/4 of the yearly income in vet bills...yikes...I just estimated what that would be on my income...that would be buying an affordable car in cash which would normally be nice small payments for 5 years

Honestly, Lisa, reading the problems (and related expense) you've suffered with Hale is one of the reasons Lois and I finally talked ourselves out of getting another animal, especially a dog. We are at a point in our lives when unexpected vet bills could be financially catastrophic.

Honestly, I think at any point in life vet bills are financially catastrophic. For us, we always try to pay cash because we don't like credit cards...we have 'em, but no balances on any. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the timing of Dora's vet bills came at a time when we had a little extra money....though, it was not supposed to be for vet bills :(

Will the vet be able to look at it tomorrow when she goes in for surgery?

We financed Cara's surgeries, and it took us quite some time to pay it all off. And that happened at a time when we still qualified for food stamps.

Our vet bill (for H.A.R.T.) is the main reason we have fundraisers. And we have a great vet who works with us, but it's still astronomical.

Kirby has already cost us about $300 with his stitches and everything, and his adoption fee will still be only $100. It's an uphill battle.

Sorry to hear of the wee girls owie, hopefully it turns out to be nothing. Give her a skritch for me. :D

We have been quite fortunate. Mandy had some kind of temporary facial paralysis on one side of her face, much like some stroke victims get. The vets were so interested in what had happened, that the took her in, flew her to a vet school, and watched her and healed her for 3 week. We never got charged a dime. Other then that, no other vet bills.

Ben was free of any out of the ordinary vet bills, until the very end when he got hit with cancer. We spent a fair bit to no avail then, but 'tis one of the duties of being a pet owner.

I'm trying to find something that will work for dog pics. Seems I am being lured into more and more shooting of dogs. So, I was trying to think of a lens that would work better than the ones I have. The ones I have are fine for a very bright day. I can get shutter speeds up than. But if it's cloudy or close to sunset, I can forget getting a fast enough shutter speed. Unless of course I bump up the ISO. Which then I get noise. What I really need is the 5DII!:lol: But I doubt that is going to happen for awhile. I thought perhaps the 70-200 2.8 non IS might be the one to go with.
