Cleaning is pointless in my house. The toys come out just as soon as they get put away.
I think that about mine. I mop and dog muddy prints go everywhere. I dust and vacuum and the dogs track everything back in and get everything dusty. I wash clothes and get jumped on. I buy something new and it gets torn right away. Pretty much I need to live in a cave near a hot spring.

Cleaning is pointless in my house. The toys come out just as soon as they get put away.
What we did was to assign the basement rec room as their toy area, with none allowed in the rest of the house, other then quieter stuff in their bedrooms. It worked great, they quickly learned their boundaries. Other friends adopted the same idea and love it too, though some of them used another space if they didn't have a developed basement.
All it took was stepping on a piece of Lego in the middle of the night, and waking the whole house up with my blood curdling yelling and cursing, to get me to decide on this plan.

Dig one. :p
That is one bonus of living around here where the frost goes down a ways, every house has a basement that can be developed, adding lots of usable space to a home at a much lower cost then building out.
Do you have a separate room of any kind to commit to the boys?

So, when they moved out, you got furkids?
I've never had a human child, but about 25 years ago I had two cats, two dogs, two rabbits and two parakeets sharing a one bedroom apartment with me. I've had an ever changing roster of furry and feathered friends ever since then, letting that dwindle to only two cats for a brief four or five months a couple times (when I adopted Ashley, and again when she died).
I gave up trying to keep things clean at home decades ago! It just ain't gonna happen. If you drop by unexpectedly, it would be a miracle if this place is even presentable!
As it is right now, I'd be letting the Bissell Spot-Bot do a little scrubbing from Minnie's latest "accident" if I didn't have to get my beauty sleep...

We're only getting rain here. Our winter temps are over and it's currently 56F outside. That means this storm is washing away most of that good looking snow in the lower and mid elevations of the mountains that are near me... :( I'd been hoping this winter would be another repeat of last year's...

not that it's relevant to anything...but if the Dutch hadn't taken some coffee seedlings from Yemen (the Arabic world was not allowing any to be exported so I'm guessing they were smuggled) and planted them in their colonies, we would not have island coffees (my favorite) or any other coffee except from Arab regions....and we certainly would be paying oil like premiums. Thanks to them, there's a coffee belt all over the globe!

I loved that Book!!! I got it after a friends manly man husband (he's an Army Ranger and all tough guy!) told me that he had a hard time staying awake during the first bit of the movie and then SOBBED like a baby during the last 2/3s of it!!!! It's getting released on DVD Tuesday I think! I LOVED the book... LOVED it... looking forward to catching the movie on DVD since I missed seeing it in theaters!
hmmm, I don't think it comes out until March. At least that's what my Netflix tells me. I enjoyed the movie, I watched it first but as usually the book is 10 times better :)

Well, we just got home from picking up BIL at the airport. We decided to stop at Bonanza for supper on the way home, but it was an hour's wait there. We decided instead to try a new place in town called The Tilted Kilt (http://www.tiltedkilt.com/). It's a sports bar that's a cross between Hooters and Brigadoon. Lots of cleavage, and the kilts the waitresses were wearing were, ummm, short.
Surprisingly, the food was really very, very good. They have several locations around the country, so some of you might already be familiar with them.

ZANE call out the hounds and horses. The neighborhood dogs were noisy a bit ago and as I was talking to Curt just a few minutes ago I saw through our window a nice healthy looking fox take cover on the neighbor's front porch across the street and then went in behind their bushes. :D:D Very cool! If it snows you can tell their track by a single dotted line of paw prints.

I just made a batch of Pioneer Woman's salsa. It's easy, tastes very good, but is way too hot for my taste. I'll let it sit for a while and see if it mellows at all, otherwise, it's heading down the drain. I believe the problem is the Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies. I think two cans (per her recipe) are too much. I might start over, and only put in one can.
Otherwise, it's delicious.

Second batch turned out much milder...not nearly as hot, in fact not hot at all. I used only one can of the Rotel, and removed all the seeds and ribs from the Jalapeņo pepper. I'll let both versions sit in the fridge overnight, then might try blending them together.
In her published recipe, PW used two cans of Rotel. One was the original version (pretty hot), and the other was the mild. Our local grocery story only had the original, so that could be part of the problem with my original batch, too.
Anyway, I figure by putting the two together in some combination, I'll have a winner.

Happy Saturday Morning to All :D
Sorry about my cryptic post earlier.
I got an E-mail from someone (sent through POTN) who was obviously unhappy with my criticism of the flyer for the paper.
So they chose to anonymously E-mail me and tell me what they thought.
Cowards.......sheesh
From today on the Oregon coast at Pacific City and Garibaldi.
Nice shots Mike. :D
It would be cool to try that lens out.
But I kind of liked this:
I like it too. :D
I recognize it from last June. You were likely standing on the beach right near where all those helicopters did a flyby over Becky and us.
Attitude?
 Dang pompous turtles.
Did this one happen to have a box of wine handy?

From today on the Oregon coast at Pacific City and Garibaldi.
I don't have anything that spectacular.
But I kind of liked this:
Beautiful, I can almost hear the waves crashing and smell that wonderful air.
Attitude?
Always nice to wake up to your pictures, Wool.
G'MAE everyone.

Meh... Ignore it. Your version of the ad was multitudes better than what the newspaper came up with. If that hurts someone's feelings, that's their problem, not yours.
Besides, sending an anonymous email is something only a coward or someone who knows they're wrong, would do.
Go ahead, lurker... Send me an anonymous email! I ain't afeered o' you.

Yo, just came by for a shower and clean cape*waves*
*whew* I hope you are resting as I type this.
From today on the Oregon coast at Pacific City and Garibaldi.
There were some big waves today. The rock in this photo is over a mile from where we were, the wave was about 1/4 mile further away.
Very cool!!
Nice work, Mike!

The sky is unusually blue... are you sure you were in Oregon?
*snort*
No. That was with the 600. I took it from my backyard.
:lol::lol::lol:
ho hum...while I'm waiting to be stepped on....*sprays silly string all over sleeping dragon & readies jello bucket over Sock's entrance*
*follows in Sock's, um, sockprints, and fills other hand with whip cream and tickles nose with fairy dust gathered with the first dew of the new moon*

Sorry about my cryptic post earlier.
I got an E-mail from someone (sent through POTN) who was obviously unhappy with my criticism of the flyer for the paper.
So they chose to anonymously E-mail me and tell me what they thought.Ok it was horrid... and you should have re-worked it! And I'm sorry but whom ever decided they needed to critize should just worry about themselves.... sheesh!
Anyway, I figure by putting the two together in some combination, I'll have a winner.Recipe?!?!?!
It really is. I can add cilantro to my heart's content. :lol:I...
ohhhh I loves cilantro!!! Never to much.:D
well... yeah that^^^^ LOL
