Interesting.
I thought so.
Marian didn't want her kindergarten photo on her announcement, so I made a few different ones for her to look at.
She likes this one, though I still have to work on the writing. (Don't like the font or the format of the wording).
I like how the word fun is underlined by a line in the rock.

I hate to tell you this, but every loaf of bread I've purchased from Alberston's winds up getting eaten. Every time I go to that store and I get some bread, doesn't matter what kind; white, wheat, rye, sourdough, french, whatever, it eventually gets either eaten or it goes stale or something. I mean, COME ON. I'll never buy bread from that store again.
You know, I have the same problem with bread I buy at the commissary...

I finally got around to doing something about the truck tire with the two nails in it. I took it to a tire place and they repaired it. For nothing...
I asked how they did the repair and the salesman said they took the tire off the wheel, pulled the nails, roughed up the holes and plugged them, the roughed up the inside of the tire around the plug and put a patch on the inside. Sounds to me like a good repair.
I think free repairs is the policy of this place (it's a chain) in order to get people to come back in when they need to replace their tires. Most tire places do that now but some charge a $10 road hazard insurance fee or something. Most place rotate and re-balance for free too.
This is Zane you're talking to, remember?
. . . and there's no surer way to ensure he doesn't do something than to order him to do it.
See above. Your authority doesn't cover all cases . . .LOL! I was very cautious. Every time I was sideways I thought of Terri's words.
Report from the Great Frozen East:
We Have Plow!
The County just sent a pickup with plow down our street! One lane wide, but hey!Woot! I am impressed at how well they have done considering we are not a snow area. They, and other municipalities, have a lock on all the salt at the port of Baltimore. We have some ins but are struggling to resupply.
I just got in. Most main streets are plowed and salted. The wind has died as well so drifting is coming to an end. It is a mess out there though. I have lots that are almost blown clean but all the snow is against the building:shock:
Downtown is a mix but pretty bad due to drifting. We drove through residential Georgetown and it has never been plowed since the first one. Down by the mall and capitol looks okay but there is a lot of snow. The sidewalks at your work were clean but bring snow shoes to walk over from the subway.
I love driving downtown in stuff like this. There were very few to nobody out there. We stopped to let the dog pee and she started barking at the flag waving loudly on a building a quarter mile away. In the eerie emptiness you could hear the echo of flags waving on all the buildings. The flag on the capitol was at half staff, I guess for Murtha(?) but the White House flag was up, hmmm.

Thanks for reminding me what it's like to live in snow country. Any romantic notions I ever had about the fluffy white stuff have been displaced once and for all by memories of the horror of actually living with it.Lol We do not live in a snow region. In fact there have been seasons we have had plowers out all of 12 hours the whole winter. We got SLAMMED.

A bit jealous here, my oldest daughter is to much of a worry wart to leave the girls over night. Heck, Caitlin and Ethan were off to my parents as soon as they were weaned. Marian didn't want her kindergarten photo on her announcement, so I made a few different ones for her to look at.
She likes this one, though I still have to work on the writing. (Don't like the font or the format of the wording).
Awww......I really like it!
LOL! No, she gave it back to him.
That's never happened to me. :?
Good girl on giving it back.
And, yeah, it has happened to me before.
Kona is really mean to Pacha. P never comes out around Kona but he adores Hale. She cleans his face and plays with him. He constantly tries to cuddle her.

Hi Tiff....you can keep that cold.
After all that hullabaloo about "oh we're going to get hit hard with snow", it snowed a LOT, but the temps were too warm for it to settle...I think we got just about 1/3 - 1/2" of snow if that!
Jon
11th of February 2010 (Thu), 09:27
Yes.. but I'm still living the nightmare. What we get here is worse. With 50 inches everything shuts down. With 12 inches your still expected to be at work on time so it just becomes a major PITA.Yeah. But you're in an area that's geared to handle that much. We're geared for maybe 6-8" per month, not in 6 hr. of a 24 hr. storm. I think the county's doing better at clearing things than the state is though.
Do you have a lot of downed limbs from the weight of the snow?
We lost a branch on our dogwood, and one of the trunks on our biggest holly; there've been a few down in the park, but not a lot in our area that I've seen.
Nice graduation cards, Cat.

Most tire places do that now but some charge a $10 road hazard insurance fee or something. Most place rotate and re-balance for free too.
They didn't charge me a dime... I've purchased tires from them before (but not this particular location) but had completely forgotten about the free repair policy.
I didn't know Murtha had died...
Yeah. But you're in an area that's geared to handle that much. We're geared for maybe 6-8" per month, not in 6 hr. of a 24 hr. storm. I think the county's doing better at clearing things than the state is though.
We lost a branch on our dogwood, and one of the trunks on our biggest holly; there've been a few down in the park, but not a lot in our area that I've seen.
There's an article in our paper this morning that mentioned schools were closed at one of the mountain districts because there is six inches of snow on the ground...
As long as you're talking about trees... every time we have a storm with high winds, the cities have to go around and cut up all the fallen Eucalyptus trees. After the last storm there were two huge ones down in a park about a mile from here. The trunks must have been a good three feet in diameter at the base.
