Did I answer this yet? I have quotes hanging on both computers...

I can't put them on my site without permission and that hasn't been granted yet. Apparently the pictures have to be approved by the celebrities that attended the event and it's a little hard to get them approved when they're still on my hard drive because I haven't finished processing them yet.
Nope, don't think you did before. So essentially, getting permission from the celebrities is gonna be near impossible.

Well, I think I need to head to bed. Have an early appointment and then head home. Nighters.

That actual line isn't in the movie, but there is a big part that revolves around it.
It's the Seinfeld clip that made that line popular.

I never have seen Seinfeld either.

Me neither... I often marveled at the vast numbers of people that identified with a series about four losers and that it remained on the air for as long as it did.

Are these people from one of those families whose tree has no branches?

Nope, don't think you did before. So essentially, getting permission from the celebrities is gonna be near impossible.

Not necessarily... I just need to wait and see. Since the event supports a non-profit organization, there is a likelihood they will want the publicity and since none of the pictures depict them in an unfavorable light it should happen.

I think I'm going to head east. We, sort of south east actually.

Coffee drinkers in the thread will appreciate my pain today.

I've been avoiding coffee for a couple months now, having a sip of Ash's once in a great while but nothing more than that. Well today, during lunch, we went to Tully's and both got coffees. I've been feeling like crap ever since. I've had issues with coffee off and on for the past 6 months but it was very hit and miss and I didn't give it any heed. In the past two months though, every time I had more than a sip or two, I get sick. Nauseated, upset stomach and dizzy. :( It's not caffeine either because I can have caffeinated tea and other beverages without issue. So it looks like my relationship with coffee is at an end
I'm sooo in the same boat. My tummy gets very upset with coffee. Even decafe. But, I'm fine with teas and such.

GOT IT! brane hurtz. :o
LOL and I so had to look up somnolent. LOL!!!

The best laid plans....

Sheesh.

Mosey is still at the shelter.

Kirby is here. Apparently, he and one of the other big black labs at Apple Valley got into it last night, and he lost.
got him all fixed up, wrapped up and such, and he's here now. He's a BIG boy. And not housebroken. Not neutered yet, and now Doc doesn't want to do it till he's healed a bit. *sigh*

So he's got a foot wrapped, with a toe almost off, and his head/face is shaved in a couple places to allow drainage from the bite wounds.

We have no idea what happened, or which dog he fought with. *sigh*
sheesh, sorry about poor Kirbs. Poor guy. Give him an extra hug from me.

They piled up on each other in the crate.

They put their little brother on the bottom.
Poor little guy.. all those sisters.
LOL!!!! He's squished!!!!

We just spent the better part of the last two hours out helping a friend look for her dog. Apparently the gardeners left the gate open, and she took off.

She's a 5-month old Teacup Chihuahua, and she's apparently been gone since mid-morning. We're hoping someone found her, and are preparing posters to paper the neighborhood with.

This is our friend I've mentioned before, the Katrina survivor, and she's devastated over this little dog. I gues Lois and I will offer a reward; I don't think she's in a position to do it.

The dog loves everyone, and would have gone to the first person she came across. Hopefully it was someone well-intended.
Awwwwwww she is a cutie too! Hope you all find her soon.

This is a residential area, so I doubt there would be any Coyotes, but there are lots of airborne predators in the area. I looked out our front window one day and witnessed a falcon devouring a Cottontail Rabbit on our lawn. (left a heck of a mess)

This dog is certainly no larger than the typical Cottontail. Still, we're hopeful a neighbor found it and took it in for safe keeping. Also, she hasn't checked animal control yet, either.
I worry about predators too when I take Cricket and Scout out for a run. I take them to a state park area that is very close to an audubon area. I hear hawks and eagles all the time and freak out. I'm scared one will come along and get my little Cricket girl.

G'MAE Curt was the hero this morning. Last night I brought home a big bag of dog food. Because there was still some in the bin that would be used this morning, I left it in the garage to bring in after I filled Bax's bowl. Went out this morning to get it and there was a quarter size hole in the top that wasn't there last night...I had Curt open it, with the exception of our resident Mouse here, I don't like it when mice come out, even when I expect it. Time to find the box with the traps...hope they don't eat any of that cheese that was in the link I posted a couple days ago.

Harm

Harm did you see the thing about the gas pedals on Toyotas?

Yes, I did - thanks. Actually a few have sent me PMs which is nice. We have spoken to the dealership who said that should our vehicle be one off the list they will contact us to get it sorted out.

Basically Toyota have said that a particular factory has had 2-3% of their vehicles off their assembly line have an accelerator issue. So rather than looking at the batch from that particular factory, they are recalling every vehicle from it and replacing the parts - issue or no issue. But I've been told that if the accelerator feels heavy and hard to push down to accelerate or slow to come off the gas when i take my foot off it, to go to a dealership and they will fix it on the spot...

until then, I can use it as an excuse if i get caught speeding ;)

So I says to the doc yesterday "whew! thank goodness all the raining is over!"

So this morning, as I open his crate, and have to hold an "OH MY GOSH I HAVE TO PEE!" dancing dog still while putting a plastic baggie over his wrapped foot and trying to get a rubber band around it to hold it on, and Star is jumping all over my head, and Drake is barking because he has no idea why no one else has gone outside with him.....

So what are the plans for today, everyone? Hmmm?

I'm going to finish this cup of coffee, and then go do my dishes which have sat neglected for 2 days ( ) then steam clean the carpets. Even though it's raining. And even though I have a dog that isn't housebroken.
If I wait for the perfect time to do it, it never gets done. And it NEEDS to be done. (gag!)

It's raining (again) so I don't think I'll be going to the dog park.

Believe it or not, we don't have any meetings, or shelter runs, or anything scheduled for today. That doesn't mean that stuff won't come up as the day progresses, but it's nice to look out and see an empty schedule, ya know? I can't remember the last time that happened.

A lot of paperwork to do. I have two properties to put on the market., a sale to process, an escrow to open, and all this while I keep my fingers crossed on one that's supposed to close today. Lenders are so paranoid these days, they're making things extremely difficult, even where there's no justification for doing so.

No puppy news. We went out last night, and I just drove around for another hour this morning. I printed a couple hundred fliers last night, and the dog's owner is going to paper the n'hood with them today, and hopefully that will do the trick. I have no idea if rewards work, but Lois and I are offering one for the owner. I don't think she can. *sigh*

None at all. At this point, with it being a whole week, there really are only a few scenarios....

1. Someone found her, took her in and loves her. This is the one that I choose to believe.

2. She is traveling, and no longer in the Veyo area. We are spreading our posters out to cover about 75 miles. If she's on the road, hopefully someone will see her and our poster. This one is a high possibility.

3. She didn't beat the odds of surviving bad weather/mountain lions/traffic/no food/abandonment.
I choose not to believe this one.

Failed science experiment?

That depends on the perspective. My PM knew I had issues with smells and a queasy stomach. (This was before I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance so I puked a lot and for "no reason"). So the experiment might have been trying to see if he could make me puke on "command" or the experiment might have been in the container. lol We'll never know!!!

Sorry to hear Kody
Thanks Heather :)

I'm sooo in the same boat. My tummy gets very upset with coffee. Even decafe. But, I'm fine with teas and such.

This mostly makes me dizzy and nauseous, not necessarily that I'm going to hurl but I just feel SICK. Hard to explain. It sucks but there are other alternatives. :)

Much as I'd like to do what I normally do, nothing, I have to finish processing the images from last Friday and get them uploaded to the paper's ftp site.

It was so tedious yesterday and since a lot of them were of award recipients at the podium, I created a preset in LR for that particular lighting. It sped up the process because all I had to do was crop and then hit the preset. Once I'm done I'll delete the preset because I doubt the lighting will be the same next year...

Sometime in the next couple of days I have to help a friend reinstall some software on her computer. She deleted some stuff by accident and she doesn't want to tell her husband because he'll ridicule her for her "ineptness..."

In fall around here, one can get out (the rain breaks up occasionally) and shoot fall colors. But winter...it's just bleah. No snow. No sun. Just grey or rain.

Every time I want to move back to the coast, the greyness over rides that want (well mostly overrides...I suppose if Dan said today "want to move back" I'd start packing immediately). Oregon coasts are lovely at certain times of the year but the overwhelming majority is grey, windy & raining.

Page 26 and this is my first post. Life is mad mad busy on the work front and Harley is taking lots of time (good time but to get it other things have to give) Work is so hectic that I am going to India Sunday night and returning Friday morning, I am only going to take T's G9 with me.

Harley is doing really well, retrieving dummies and is now doing a sitting present. She is getting very tall but remains sleek and fit.

I will try and get some more Video footage when I get back from India, I have some radio mikes now so on the next Vid you will be able to hear what I am saying to her.

Her training will level off for a while now as the next things she needs to learn really need her to be a little older and less of a puppy, so for the next few months it will just be reenforcing the things she knows and getting her used to loud bangs.

Any ideas throbbing brain people?

My dad gave me a Lexar Media 512mb CF card that he can't get the pictures off of. He can see the thumbs on his camera but they will not upload to the computer. I have tried RescuePro and my other recovery programs, even windows sees the files, I just can't get them off the card.

Any ideas?

Jon
27th of January 2010 (Wed), 13:23
What specific Lexar? Back a few years ago they had a proprietary extension to the CF spec that was supposed to be higher performance. It worked (mostly) OK in-camera, but you needed a Lexar reader to cope with it; other brands need not apply. If that's what it is, you might need to try downloading from the camera, or to scrounge up an older Lexar reader.

It is an older card, he used it daily until this. He has a thing with using larger cards for this very reason. He uses a bunch of 512's with his 5d so he won't lose a days worth of pictures if one card turns up gimpy.

It's a Professional Compact Flash with WA (Write Acceleration Technology) Lexar Media 512mb 80x.

SN# 3911512cb20059171Yeah - "Write Acceleration"was Lexar's proprietary thing now you mention it. I'm not too surprised recovery software can't cope with it. Maybe see what Lexar has available for it.But Write Acceleration is one reason Lexar had to recall a bunch of their cards (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=74619&highlight=Lexar+recall) because they didn't play nicely with some of the Canon cameras and why some of us are still skittish about Lexar cards.

Afternoon folks. :D

Not necessarily... I just need to wait and see. Since the event supports a non-profit organization, there is a likelihood they will want the publicity and since none of the pictures depict them in an unfavorable light it should happen.
And to make sure that there were no wardrobe malfunctions caught in a shot?

So this morning, as I open his crate, and have to hold an "OH MY GOSH I HAVE TO PEE!" dancing dog still while putting a plastic baggie over his wrapped foot and trying to get a rubber band around it to hold it on, and Star is jumping all over my head, and Drake is barking because he has no idea why no one else has gone outside with him.....
... the thought might have crossed my mind that I'm insane.
You are insane.....insanely helpful to all the dogs.

*sigh*

And, just how does someone try to call another, when the one doesn't have the other's number? Just start dialing at random and hope for the best?

Hey dog owners...question. Do all dogs have big-ish jowls? Kona's lips/jowl things are often kind of tucked in his teeth....he looks very dorky when he does this.

Well they say dogs resemble their owners so I guess you'll have to take a look at those in the home and make a decision accordingly.

You need big jowls to confine big tongues.

It's a complicated system really, when I got to 911 I stopped trying.

LOL good point.

It was just funny...he holds them (the jowls) in his teeth tight. It's not like I can slip them out or anything. It must hurt.
