Hawk or eagle?

I took this last Sunday at 1/400. I'm thinking this is too slow a shutter speed for a moving subject like this as most of my shots were a lot more out of focus.

Would love to know the species. It looks like a hawk to me. I was impressed with the altitude this bird flew to before he/she came back down to a level I could reach (barely) with my 70-200. Thanks for looking!

Definitely a RT Hawk. Great color too! A bit soft, likely OOf or perhaps motion blur, too bad, this guy is beautiful! Hopefully you get to see some more and get another opportunity at it. I'll cross my fingers for ya!
