Anyone have experience using 1Gig CompactFlash for D30 & D60? From what I understand, speed doesn’t make that much difference as the limiting factor seems to be the write speed in the D60. So I’m looking for cost and reliability. Also, we soon should be hitting the FAT16 limitation of 2Gig. That’s too bad as I see announcements for 4Gig and up flash memory.

I haven't had any problems with the 1GB Microdrives on the D60...they sell for about 175 (eBay) to 225 (online). The solid states are supposedly faster but probably not noticeable...my guess is also that the solid states use less power. I'm waiting to purchase Sandisk 1GB compactflashes at Amazon for about $225. Either one is a must if you shoot in RAW mode (1 GB holds ~135 raw images).

You might also want to consider the Nixvue Digital Album lite coming out around now (distributed by JOBO). $279 buys a 20GB palm-sized storage device with USB2 to-PC xfer speeds. This way, you can just buy 1 compactflash and download it at the end of the day if you are on extended trips away from your PC.
