Very pretty.....did you a shallow DOF or have you kept the centre sharp in photoshop and blured the rest......just a thought because i like the way its done.

I got most of it in focus as that's what I was wanting - however when I looked at the images most of the foreground petals were out of focus so I hightened that in PS to include the other petals - it was very much an experiment which I think has worked - that's why I asked for Critique and Comment.

David, I think its lovely. The out of focus petals really give the image that special feel.
BTW following on from our PMs' about dogs eating habits, 'dog daisy' is a polite description of dog poo!

I hope you realise that I am now restraining myself from doing the obvious when I take the dogs for their next walk! ;) Too much information anyway!

PS Thanks for the comments:D

Beautiful shot David.
I like it a lot. The PS adjustments work well.
The yellow center ( I don't know the correct terminology ) and the white petals stand out well from the darker background.
I was wondering how it might look if the petals in the focal plane were kept sharp to suggest a narrow DOF.
As it stands the yellow center is sharp and all the petals blurred.
Just a thought :?

Thanks Cameron,
Here's the original file - all I've done to this is re-size & convert to SRGB for the web and sharpen it slightly.
You can see that I did very little in Photoshop.

David, I like what you've done with the image - the sharpness of the flower centre draws the eye in. It's an interesting effect having all the petals out of focus - I like it as a technique.
I love Daisies, they always have such happy faces :D
:p hubby's comments about dog poo, he always complains that women end up talking about dog poo, and I log on to find he's doing the same
