Hi all, looking for a pro opinion before an event next week. It's a graduation event where there's no "bookable" photog, but you turn up on the day and get one done in front of a rather boring background etc and there's a "walkaround" photog that we know loosely through previous work, who is grabbing "snapshot" style shots (but we have seen his work before and were very impressed in some tough situations - outdoor, evening, false-lighting stage shots. The problem is that the graduand wants an outdoor shot done properly, in front of the nice buildings rather than a naff background. Would it be considered impolite/rude to ask the outdoor photog to take some specific shots at the time (and pay him obviously)?

Naturally I'd love to do the shots myself but I dont trust my own skills and don't have any nice L's, so we have few other options. I'll be taking my camera for some practice myself (out of the way of the pros, and only for the one person) but I'm not about to take on that responsibility!

Opinions welcome!
