Just wondering where the usual croft posters have gone too or is there another forum somewhere on here?

I wasn't there so had nothing to post.........
Some of the colours look a bit over saturated, Paul Bird's Focus in particular. Other than that, some decent stuff here.

I found 1 angle that i liked, shot from there for a while then went home. Most other angles i planned to use were ruined by the sun being right in front of me.
I ended up sticking the 500 on and going for shots where i could catch the expressions on the Crew's faces up at the complex. I'll post a few up in a bit :)

I was just wondering, as at one time, say after a rallycross meet, there were always a few posts from numerous people and although the last two meets at croft have had loads of photographers in the press areas, it just appeared that hardly anyone was putting their pictures up (not saying that they have to) and i was just wondering if there was a reason for it as i really do like to see other peoples work.

Nice shots. Paul Bird (green Focus) has been to Barbados a few times for Rally Barbados (http://www.rallybarbados.bb) and the 6R4 pictured (Chris Wise)is the same one that was campaigned by Roger Mayers in Barbados as well.

With regards to the amount of people Trackside for the Jack Frost & Christmas Stages, those 2 events tend to be a lot more relaxed than any others at Croft. I can only assume it's because the organising clubs view them as a Stage Rally rather than a Circuit meeting for which the "rules" are a lot tighter for obvious reasons.
Once the circuit racing season kicks of again i dare say you'll see more from Croft. I didn't bother with the Christmas Stages (saw the Traffic and retreated home) and i almost didn't bother with the Jack Frost. They're both good events, but Single Venue Rallies aren't my favourite thing to honest.

If I'm honest, I was (and to an extent still am) reluctant to post on here any more. The main reason being that I was finding my threads were getting a lot of views, but very few comments. Those comments that were made tended to be fairly generic and not offer any useful feedback (good or bad) about the image itself. It got to the point where I thought 'what's the point?' and hence scaled right back on what I was posting.
This coincided with getting a bit cheesed off with my motorsport photography. However, for this season, I have taken the decision to stop supplying the outlets I was with pictures, and to go back to shooting what I want, when I want from the spectator areas. I am really looking forward to having a laugh at the track again, and not be worried about fulfilling briefs and deadlines. As a result, you may see me start to post a few more images once the season gets back underway.
Simon.

Great set Rick number 1 for me....
Simon I hope you do keep posting here, yours and Geoff’s pics are great and do help beginners like me have something to look up too, it looks like Rick is off the same opinion.
I am also guilty off you other statement off viewing but not commenting ( which I am going to change ) it is hard to comment sometime when you have limited knowledge and are not sure if something is great or just good.
Hope to see you all about this coming season..

I must admit I used to post a lot on here in the past but I have got a bit sick of photography forums of late and very rarely use them now.
Anyway about your photos, some nice panning in there and some well caught photos, I have to agree with Simon though some of the colours do seem to be a bit over done.
I will stick some of my shots up in a bit for dissection;)
Cheers

Interesting discussion about lack of posts.
I too don't post much, none on here any more as have chucked my hat in with Nikon,I had both ,but circumstances made me go with the blackstuff.
For what it is worth they are both great, but couldn't afford both.
Lack of comments is always disappointing, but it all does seem to have gotten a bit cliquey on most forums I visit, and so often very average stuff does get described as brilliant, awesome, fantastic, when plainly it is not.
Often ,honest crit is taken badly and folk taking offence, and getting stroppy, and quite truthfully ,it is usually easier not to bother as Simon says.
Face to face ,everyone would get on just dandy, visual communication is so much better, and I can honestly say I have made some great chums through this medium, and contributers like Simon Harrison has helped me loads on here and on the phone, even though we have never met,as have others.
The only problem is that we probably all think we are the dogs danglies and get a little precious and protective ,and the other thing is the little pond is full of more and more up and coming togs all thinking the same.
Personally,I just love the day out, great pics can be a bonus, but the craic and the action is what I love best of all.:)
What others think of my pics does not bother me any more,as they are for my enjoyment, and what I think of others pics is hardly important ,after all ,what do I know, not a lot .
Now I am just rambling,so no change there.

Rick ,
You have done well here, your panning and shutter speeds are spot on.
The metro is the pick.
