Just a couple tent shots using the new to me Mk3. The weather has been so dark and grey that it's not worth going outside to try and shoot. This is just as fun though. :)

I like the second one. My only complaint is that it looks like it isn't completely clean.

What is it sitting on?

As a past marine myself, you must know how this dirty beast makes me feel. It's not mine, or I would strip it down to it's component parts and clean it within an inch of it's life. I'm afraid to even look down the barrel.

But yes, it's dirty, been sitting inside a soft case for years probably and about all I did was wipe it down with a silicone cloth. There is still dust everywhere. And that is from the black plexiglas it's sitting on. Wiping it down with a dry cloth causes static buildup and it sucks the dust out of the air, and of course, every bit shows in a photograph. I've healed most of them already. By the way, with the cylinder out like that, the gun balanced itself on 3 points. A nice bonus.

The plexiglas should be blacker, but I did not use the black velvet sweep inside the tent and what your seeing is the white tent material reflected off the Plexiglas. The company I bought the P'glas from also sells a liquid that will heal small scratches, clean the plexiglas and remove and prevent static. They have a second liquid that will heal deeper scratches. I will be ordering both soon, as you really need it if your going to use this stuff much.

Thanks Landlocked. I think the technical aspects of the shots are OK, that part is working out, but the subjects need to be more interesting. :)

For the second one, I'd clean up all the dust in PS. 10 minutes with the spot healer tool and it will look flawless.

Thanks for looking Jason. I did spend a lot of time with the spot healer. When I got into the reflection of the gun part though, it started leaving little circles you could see on the black part. I really need to reshoot it, after getting some of the anti-static stuff, and maybe clean the gun too. :)

Darth Tater FTW! We had a Optimash Prime.. More than Meets the Fry!

Love them!

HAHA, thanks for looking. My brother collects them for when the grandkids are old enough to appreciate them. They make good subjects. :)

I'm sure that's his excuse ;)

He does seem to have a lot of them. ;)

Although tbh, I'm a big kid as well and I loved Optimash Prime when we had it! I might have to start some sort of collection when I get my own place!! lol

I'm not into these much, but it looks like all the parts come off and you could actually stick them into real potato's. Like old Mr. Potatohead. :)

Nice.

Taking tent pics of guns like the Ruger shot with my p&S , got me interesting into getting a DSLR....& I've hardly shot any tent pics since I got it.

Thanks for looking. After almost 4 years of shooting birds and dealing with outdoor weather, it's a great relief to shoot in a tent where I control the light, conditions and the subjects. I quickly found out it was impossible to take a badly exposed picture, where with birds, it was impossible to take a perfectly exposed picture. :)
