And it is a test run with a, I guess you could say professional wedding photographer, I know the guy well, I'm a graphic designer at a newspaper and he is the photographer there.
Any hints? Tips? Do you think I'm going about this in the right manner?
I read Paul F. Gero's Book "Digital Wedding Photography" front to back, and can't wait to start it up...

Sorry you didn't get any replies but I for one at least will be interested to see some of your successes.

I'd say... keep your peepers open. :D
Notice how the pro pose the bride & groom, notice how he/she handle the light (use of flash, etc), how the pro approaches the subjects, etc. Ask when you're unsure about what settings the pro is using. If you use a zoom, take shots from different distances (1/3, 2/3 and full length, etc). Move around and see why the pro did choose that particular viewpoint for his pictures. When he's done, move in on the same spot and compare with the shots you took from another angle (did your pictures turn out better or worse?)
The best way to learn is to obeserve the pro and also get your own feet wet. Dont be afraid to ask the ones you're shooting to look your way when the pro is busy chaning lens or letting you "take over" for a while. Just be sure you're working in symbiosis with the pro, so his shots doesn't get ruined due to people looking at you instead of him.
You gonna have fun! I can promise you that. :)

The guy was awesome, he taught me soooo much, I had a great time....was not nervous at all.
He really took control of the situation, and he had everyone's attention...
Funny how much that book by Paul F. Gero comes in handy, he bascially told me and showed me everything I read and saw in that book..
Pics to come soon...
Thanks.

Well, you have asked and asked for critique so... These are really nice I like some better than others. The first 2 are really the only ones I don't care for. I am not real big on veil shots although I have seen some beauties. In the 2nd one I (personally) would have ask the bride to not to look straight into the camera. Looking across the room behind you would have given her a softer look and improved her neck line. Thats just my opinion. I should also mention that the first wedding I shot was trash!! Keep up the good work.

If the B&G are happy you have done your job, when you get 3 books then you have done your job well. They are nice photos but by now you know that, congrats.
