That is an interesting shot. I like the idea of making the boarder see through, but IMO I think the bars across his torso are too harsh.

Was this a long exposure with a strobe fired during the jump, or a Photoshop trick?

its second curtain flash
no it's not, it's first curtain sync with a Bronica SQ-A medium format film camera, and something like a 2 second exposure. Flash fired to freeze motion, ambient light crept in during the exposure.
Yeah, this hip sucks though. It's just south of Thunderbird on 59th ave.

would have been super dank if shot on a tripod, as some of the ambient would have crept in, but without the blurriness

No this wasn't shot on a tripod, and it's super hard to hold a Bronica still. Huge heavy camera, and crazy mirror slap.

Interesting but it doesn't capture the actual trick well. Frontside flips are one of my favorite shots to see mid turn and the board mid flip. Otherwise it's decent and if you were to shoot like this again then maybe a nice long rail with a smith/crooked/blunt to not confuse or second guess the person looking at the photo. Looking back at it, it could've been any # of tricks and defeats the prupose of the title..
