I have two SmugMug camera straps, one for each of my bodies. I LOVE them. They're nice and long, and the slight stretch makes them much more comfortable for all day shooting.

Unfortunately, I broke one of the sliders today while I was making an adjustment to the length. The strap is now un-usable. I contacted SmugMug, but they do not stock replacement parts.

Not wanting to throw out a perfectly good strap, I am looking a replacement part and repair my strap. I am not able to figure out what the part is actually called or where I would purchase a replacement.

Any help would be appreciated!

FYI, the SmugMug strap uses a 1/2" width webbed portion (vs. 3/8" for the Canon straps).

Here is a picture of the broken part:

Sorry, not knowing where to get a replacement but I broke the same part on mine too while wearing and it got caught on the backpack. I'm surprise how easy it was to break it.

Now I use it on my 300 f2.8 lens by just tying a knot around it.

I'm not sure what the part might be called, but you might want to check a good hardware store, perhaps Home Depot. Sometimes you can find the odd things there...
