Hello Dave, for six months I had a S1 IS (sold it) and last week I bought the S2 IS to and I have taken 1.200 shots with it. It allways surpises me that it is capable of taking very good pictures.
I have a 20 D with the 24-70, the 50/1:4 and the kitlens and several accessories. I was planning on buying me a oneother expensive lens (70-200/2.8 IS or tha 70-300 DO) for it but now I have seen what is possibble with thr S2 IS I am thinking of selling all my other gear and only work with this camera.
I'm tired of having to drag around a havy camera and lens around. Tired of buying always expensive accessoires for a DSLR and most of al: tired of having to spend many hours in postprocessing because the pictures right out of the 20 D are not so good as the S2 IS.
Even when I set the parameters stronger on the 20 D.
I am also very happy wth the fact that the sensor is clean and stays that way. With a DSLR it's a shame that this has to bee cleened very often in my case.
Shure there are some things that I don't have on the S2 IS but there are some things that I have instead. A 12 x zoom wih IS would be very heavy and expensive for a DSLR and now I have it in the palm of my hand. And like I said: I'm very happy with the results.
The very good movie mode is also a big advantage. And there are many others advantages.
This is my opinion and I hope nowbody is offended by it.

Nice shot, but I'd have aimed a bit to the left & back a bit so he wasn't looking out of the frame so much.
Salleke: "With a DSLR it's a shame that this has to bee cleened very often in my case." Stay away from f/11+ & you'll never see a problem! ;-)

Thanks for the advice. I will keep it in mind. But I like to shoot airplanes and even at lower aperture numbers you often see the specks on the sensor.
Mostly when i have a nice airplaine picture the specks come in sight to.
I think I hate Murphy...

Well, we have to live with it...;) ;) ;)

That looks like a great shot for being straight out of the camera. That looks like a great camera.

Many nice pictures are coming very good right out of the camera...:D :D :D
