Hello everybody,
I would like to know if any of you has had any experience with the new Tamron 28-300 XR lens on the Canon D60 camera. I have a Canon 28-200 USM lens right now, and I am moderately happy, but not trilled with the results. I just cannot afford to buy an L glass, and also I really need a compact lens to take with me when I travel. I often find myself taking pictures in places where there is a lot of poverty, and showing off with a big white 70-210 L lens is considered almost an invitation to get robbed.
I read the specs about the Tamron lens in a couple of photography magazines, and it sounds good, but I suspect that a lot of these editorial on magazines are influenced by the fact that the manufacturer is paying for advertising on that magazine, so they will never be completely objective.
I will appreciate any imput.

I don't have personal experience w/ it, but I doubt the Tamron would be any better. If you need inexpensive versatilty, go for the Canon 28-105mm. If you need speed, get the 50mm 1.4.

the D60 needs good glass. superzooms hardly qualify.

zoom with your feet.

just my $0.02.
