Yesterday my daughter called wanting me to try to get some belly pictures for her. The weather was cold but at least the rain has stopped and so had the crazy wind. The 20mth old was not very cooperative and did I say it was really cold? I had fun trying. So--what do you think of these? Here are a couple of the favorites.

#1 and #4 are very nice. I would prefer 2 and 3 with a more shallow DOF. The weeds behind them aren't very pretty and distract some from the subject. Congrats on the new grand child. I'm looking forward to some baby shots :)

Thank you Helen for sharing what you see! You are right about the DOF. I'm learning and this was my first maternity. It is hard to get nice looking weeds I suppose. I don't recall resetting the aperature but I did. Here is a shot with a bit better DOF I think. I might have changed it fearing I'd be too shallow and be really OOF. Is this photo better as far as DOf goes?

Looks like you are getting comfortable with your new camera.

I like to leave a little extra room around my shots to give me the freedom to crop in different sizes later on. It helps keep toes and hands in the shot too.

Thank you Sam. I am learning, slowly but learning. :) They were very happy and kept quite a few. Thank you for the tip about leaving room. I did crop some on some of these. Should I leave more room for printing? I didn't think about frames. Hmmm.

I didn't think about frames. Hmmm.

If you can remember that every time you have me beat. I end up using frames with no borders a lot :D

There is a lot to think about is what I'm finding out! LOL I'm having fun though. Borderless frames. I like it!
