it was other problems with pbase
and they are still there
the downloading is taking a huge amount of time and some pictures are not showing at all
even after I just put them on
not sure if others are having that problem

I noticed the background on the Pbase ' pages' turned completely to white
all over their site on Sunday
they must be sorting something out .
then the colour came back last evening

anyway thanks, and don't you worry about it
