I went to the International Auto Show in Detroit over the weekend. Cars don't interest me that much, but I saw this award in a display for one of the car companies and I took my fiance's picture through the glass part. The second is upside-down. Which do you like better? Any comments or critique would be appreciated. Thanks!

Neither grabs me. But the second strikes me as quite like all those upside down images of things reflected in puddles that beginners are so fascinated by.

The first is an interesting idea. However, I have two issues with it. The composition looks like that of a snap shot. There's a lot of unused space on the left, which makes the center of interest smaller than it need be. The second is the story that you're trying to tell. Is it "See how cool this is with the person upside down"? Well, that's not very interesting beyond novelty. I think you have the makings of something more interesting in the out-of-focus image of your fiance. Correlating the two would draw my interest. However, the focus would have to be better on the live figure.

They just don't work for me. I see the hint of a story in the first, but the lack of depth of field makes the background image too blurry and the reflection through the globe isn't enough of a center of interest to save it. The second captures the reflection better, but still doesn't really carry any real impact.
