Hey Guys,
For traveling purposes, which Pelican do you guys recommend based on the equipment listed in my signature?

Also, I'd like room for some of my accessories and the very likely addition of a 16-35 II to my collection.

Pelican has too many cases / options so I'd figure I'd ask for your advice! Wheels are not a necessity for me but I'm open to all suggestions!

If air travel is on your list, the largest sized Pelican you can carry-on is the 1510.

Is that 1514 not too big though for what I have?

Is that 1514 not too big though for what I have? Nope, I would say it is just about right. Plus it will get a little heavy so the wheels will do you wonders in the airport! And ontop of that, if the cabin is full you can put it in checked and not have to worry about it! At least it breaking, haha.

Should I go the foam or divider route?

Should I go the foam or divider route?

It depends how and where you are using the case. I have numerous Pelican cases and for portaging or backcountry excursions I usually use a 1450 with the foam as it provides far better impact protection to the contents. It doesn’t fit all my gear but any larger and it’s not practical and it fits the stuff I really need with the correct amount of foam padding around it.

To store all my gear and transport it in cars, planes, etc... I use a 1500 with dividers as its far more convenient and the impact protection is still great for that application. Here is the gear I usually store in the 1500 with room to spare. I could fit another lens such as the 16-35/2.8 if I needed to.

- 5D (no grip)
- 50/1.4
- 24-70/2.8
- 70-200/4 IS
- 580 EXII
- Lots of Spare Batteries, filters and chargers

Without wheels, what's the next best recommendation? Weight is not a concern so much as bulkiness.
