A Red-Tailed Hawk

I have searched high and low for this bird. It turns out he found me. First ever shot I have taken of this beautiful Raptor. Hope you like.

Tis beautiful.... but I'm pretty sure what ya got there is a Red-shouldered Hawk. They're screamers - did he yell at you for taking his pic?

What Lazy is referring to is that red-shouldered hawks tend to have that more pronounced black-white striping on the tail. Sometimes the red streak on the shoulder is more pronounced. Also, the red-shouldered hawk is a lot smaller than a red-tail.

Hawk ID can be confusing unless you can get a shot of the front also.
