Here is my second attempt guys. This time I brought the light up a little higher, more to the front, and angled it down to get more light on the front of my subjects. These are straight out of the camera with no PP.

5.My Great Grandfather's 1901 Improved Willis Planimeter (Has the original case and paperwork) Sold for $25 in 1901. It reads the perimeter of irregular shapes and gives you the measurement in various denominations (feet, meters, miles, etc.)

How are these compared to my first round (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=816670)?

The pictures are nice and sharp, but just so plain, like they are lacking something. I think they need to fill much more of the frame to be good "product" type shots.

In my own work, I am now leaning towards adding more in the picture than just the product. For instance, if you were to photograph a towel holder, rather than just the holder, even if it were made of gold, you might want to include a towel or two. I'm still working it out in my minds eye, but you see where I am going. :)

you need reflection and a better position for your light
a softboxes light is suggested, 2 on every side and one behind or below the object
here some example
