Any news about update to Apple's Aperture software

I'm waiting for an update to Apple's Aperture to version 3. I was hoping to hear about it at Apple's big press event for the iPad today, but nuthin. I've so far heard snippets that suggestion mid 2010... bleh. I was hoping for a little bit of hope that it might come out sooner.

oh man im about to give up on Apple, basically no computer is better than the software - so if they dont get their act together soon ill go for lightroom, and get a pc which a third or a fourth of the price. I have 4 apple computers and was gonna buy my fifth the new Imac 27 - but im not doing it if they are not releasing aperture 3 very soon.

Even if you decide to switch to Lightroom, it works well on the Mac, no need to switch hardware...

Besides... Lightroom/Aperture development cycles aren't that far off from each other. They're very comparable. Adobe has a beta available, but my guess is Aperture 3 and Lightroom 3 will be officially released very close to each other...My hope is that Aperture 3 will be released within a few weeks...but we'll see, I guess.

I think the hard thing about being a mac user is Apple doesn't announce anything ahead of time. That makes it seem like they're ignoring their customers, but in reality, they software updates tend to come out in reasonable timeframes...I think perception is a big issue.

I heard Scott Bourne say today that Aperture 3 is in beta testing. I hoping we'll see it within the year.
