Hi-
I was at Mardi Gras this weekend and I wanted to take pics of the street (people and buildings), however I got very blurry pics w/o the flash. I also tried to add exposure and a long shutter but the pictures where very blurry. With the flash they werent blurry but obviously I could only see the head of the person standing in front of me. Is this normal or what setting is good good for this situation? I have the S230. Thanks.

Use iso 200-400. If your "flim speed" is faster, your shutter won't have to stay open for so long... hence, no more blur.

set iso to 100,turn off long shutter,or if you want to use long shutter mode, set camera on a tripod, otherwise everythings going to turn out blurry alright.now if you turn off long shutter , use slow sync flash mode(the one w/ a snowman looking icon and a star on the upper right side)and don't forget to brace your elbows on the side of your body or use a tripod, keep the camera steady and press shutter carefully and don't move camera till it stops recording the image to the CF card.oh ! and also, turn AIAF on,no need for exposure compensation, leave it set to zero. hope that helps you take clearer, more properly exposed images,,pc

Paul, thanks for your in-depth response, you seem to have lots of experience w/ these small cameras. I will try it and let you know what happens. Thanks again!

you're welcome totono, this is a great little camera, just spend a bit of time experimenting on different settings in manual mode, till you're happy with the result, take notes,so you don't 4get w/c shot you took with w/c setting. happy shooting ! pc
