View Full Version : 20D Exposure Compensation trouble

Can anyone help!

I think I have a problem with my new 20D. Exposure compensation constantly displays 1/3 stop under exposure. If I try to make any exposure compensation at all it always jumps back to -1/3 in the view finder.

I've tried a test normal and 2 stops over exposed, the image is the same.

I normally keep to Av and Tv modes....I have this problem in both.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Is this with or without flash? If it is with flash, many add +2/3 to +1 stop of flash exposure compensation as a start. The 20D is designed to slightly underexpose to ensure that you don't blow out highlights.

First of all, re-read page 83 in the book and then tell us how you are trying to adjust the exposure compensation. State exactly what steps you go through, how the camera is set before and afterward, and what you see happening along the way.

I assume that you have the main power switch set to the second On position, and not the first On position.

Thanks Bob....Page 83 pointed out that the user isn't quiet as smart as he thought.
