You might want to consider the lowenpro stealth D300 bag. or D200 if you don’t need as large.
The weather sealed top zipper lets you whip out your camera on the fly from your hip bag and saves having to flip the lid open and exposing all your gear and getting water or dust and grit inside your bag. I've even changed lenses through the zipper on my D300. Lol
There is a dozen really cool things about these bags that I won’t list, if you are interested in one go watch a you tube video they made; it is the only way to see it’s many interesting features properly.
