Hi,
headed to the Philly auto show tomorrow. Looking for some shooting advice. Ill be shooting with my Tamron 17-50. Should I bring my 430exii or is there enough ample light a at the shows. What kind of cheater settings are good? Any kind of advice is greatly appreciated.

I've found the light at the shows to be adequate with a higher ISO. Direct flash is generally not good, particularly with highly reflective objects (like cars). Pure bounce doesn't work because the ceiling is 50 feet above you, so try one of the diffuser products like Sto-Fen if you want to try flash.
I generally shoot at auto shows only for documentation. When I shoot art car shoots (mostly outdoors) I will use relatively high iso setting and my 17-40. I like close up details.
