Hi All
Im new to this site and new to my new T1i . My intrest is Microscopy .I have been using a dedicated microscope camera and a point and Shoot camera with NAME THAT STARTS WITH a N... lol. I am also intrested in getting involved with Macro. Now that I have this great camera Im thinging of getting the Canon 65mm or the 60 mm or 100mm with some tubes. Please bear with me his whole macro norminclature is new to me . But I am excited about learing about Macro, and enjoying my main intrest Microscopy with this great SLR with the EOS live view Utility. Are there any microscopy people out there who are using the EOS utility. Using this camera with microscopy it is done with out a lens the image is presented on the chip...

There are lots of good macro lenses. I would say get a macro lens with focal distance close to 100mm or more. (Sigma 105, Tamron 90, Canon 100, Tokina 100) just to name a few. With extension tubes you can increase their magnification even further =)

I think the larger the focal length, the more magnification you can achieve with extension tubes if you ever want more than 1:1. I haven't tried the 65mm canon one, but I am sure it works fine, although the 100mm Canon is pretty cheap used these days.
