Very nice shots. The basketball pic is indeed very nice. I just picked up the same lens this evening. I can't wait until tomorrow morning to try it out.

Here is a shot I took in kind of a macro perspective using this lens. Despite the critics, I find this sub $500.00 lens quite sharp especially at f8-11.

Here is another one where the image is of a rock wall that is around 50 feet. I am pleased with the depth of field.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Yeah, that Bball image was fun to shoot. I was mesing around with all sorts of different focal lengths that night. The 10-24 SP supplied a few different looks that I had not yet shot. Up till that point I had only used either a Canon 50f1.8 or f1.4 or my 70-200 f4L. When I busted out the UWA new kinds of shots became available to me. There is very little room under the basket/in the paint area in a Middle School gym, so the the 10-24 lent itself nicely to that kind of image. I also tried to use my Canon 28mm f2.8 and go som nice shots there too.
Since I posted this thread I have also got a Canon 24-70 f2.8L that I have used for basketball. Now that's the shiz-nit lens for Bball. Wide, long and fast! The AF motor in the Tamron 10-24 just isn't fast enough to keep up with these kids so I kept my shot selection to the slower types of things, foul shots and in bound passes near me.
I love my lens, though I haven't used it much lately. That darn 24-70L is always on my body!
Maybe I'll have to have a day where I only shoot the 10-24 and see what I come up with.

I enjoyed your pics, they have inspired me to use my Tamron 10-24 more. I especially like the Truck Cab photo. The composition and light is just right.
