Looks like some sort of print, maybe on a cheque or something like that??Damn. I didn't think it would go that quick. Yes, it's the MICR code on the check that marks the beginning and end of the bank's routing/transit number. I wasn't sure if these codes were used worldwide or not. I saw people definitely guessing paper towel. I wish I had a true macro lens which would have made this much harder. I think I'm operating at about 1:3 magnification max.
This thread is going to push me into getting a true macro lens. I can see it coming. :D

Well, after 4 months of playing the super macro game, I just realized I do have a true macro setup, and have been using the Tamron 28-75's 1:3 this whole time. I know I'm getting a bad rep here with the Opteka as it is, but about 8-9 months ago I bought a cheapo wide angle/macro combo that threads on to the kit lens. I just tried it on the check, and I got true 1:1 magnification, and pretty decent optical quality, but maybe some CA there around the edges of the print. The checkbook was not laying flat, which is why the right side is OOF.
You guys are in trouble now. :D

And no, I don't have any fake watches. I used to be obsessed with watches (before photography ;-) ) so now I have my GMT- Master II (16th birthday), a 3 year old Omega Speedmaster, a Breitling Chronomat, and a bunch of Seiko's and Bulova's. ( the latter, from my early days, when I didn't make any money  ) Oh, and one Rotary.
