Hey 633, welcome to POTN. And a belated welcome to Logan too. Looks like SMGG is getting popular. We've even got Mike Bell back!

633, the house rules that have sort of emerged are that if somebody gets a guess right then we give them 24 hours to post. This is a global forum, some people are asleep when their guess is confirmed as correct, some people are at work, etc. So if you want to take your turn when you get home, I'm sure we'd be happy to wait. Or we can get on with the game. It's your call.

633k3773
10th of July 2007 (Tue), 16:22
Ok, well i was just advised that I have 24 hours to post up a new picture and since i'm new I would kinda sorta like to! I will be relieved of my painfully boring job shortly and once home, will post up....something.

Well, I wouldn't have gotten it. Now you just have to be tougher with your macros. There are some great guessers around here. Sometimes I've been amazed that folk get my macro so fast when I think it is something hard, othertimes I think it will go real fast and it takes forever. That's all part of the fun.

It was a good one, I am just a little strange when it comes to labels. I was and am really into design and product design for awhile and it flipped this switch in my head that I imprint labels of things in my brain.

I will post up my picture as soon as I get home from work. ;)

is garlic black across the pond? Not on a large scale. It's usually white or purple or green. If it's turned black you wouldn't want to eat it.

But remember we're looking at a crop that's only 1mm across. I thought it might be the blackened shrivelled tip of something, but at that size it could be the blackened shrivelled tip of just about anything. So I was trying to think of something that fits Jim's clues - it's very common, it's a plant, it's edible raw or in stuff (as some sort of flavouring presumably), etc.

Presumably that means this can be eaten "totally unprocessed"...

garlic?
No, and right about the processing
is garlic black across the pond?
There is more colour to this then black ;)
Cocoa?
Chocolate?
Cinnamon?
Notta
Not on a large scale. It's usually white or purple or green. If it's turned black you wouldn't want to eat it.

But remember we're looking at a crop that's only 1mm across. I thought it might be the blackened shrivelled tip of something, but at that size it could be the blackened shrivelled tip of just about anything. So I was trying to think of something that fits Jim's clues - it's very common, it's a plant, it's edible raw or in stuff (as some sort of flavouring presumably), etc.
The bold quote is right on
fennel
Nope

Ok, here is a larger crop. This would be a good 2mm wide.

Thanks Stewart, I am just glad to break the slump of being guessed too quickly. :D

One of my favourite foods. I should have known... but my mind insisted that it was something metallic, solderpaste to be precise, right up to that 2mm crop.

In Norwegian we say "It's just blueberries" to mean "It's easy as pie" - something this one wasn't... :D

OK, after Jim's enigmatic blueberry, you all deserve to let your shoulders down, lean back and relax with this really easy macro. It'll be just blueberries:

ahh....wet blue plastic. I just realized this pic was taken by my son and it is a chair...wet blue plastic chair...But since you cannot tell by the photo...it's yours. I thought it was a different shot I had taken...besides...I was just going for water droplets.
